I know that several of you have websites for your farms or if you sell goat milk soap, etc. Who designs those web sites for you? Do you design them yourselves or have a computer-person do it for you?
What is the initial cost and the cost per month?
Is there somebody on the web that will do it less expensively and that you have had good service with?
I don't want one of the freebie services where you have an extra long web address because they are hard for folks to access UNLESS you link from somewhere else....
Any suggestions and helps will be appreciated!
You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt! |

we must talk, My husband and I are graphic artists along with other kinds of art. But right now we are focusing on graphic design and web building. On my very first post I offered That if anyone was interested in having a website built and don't know how to do it to contact us. We are trying to put together a portfolio. So you would not be charged anything to build the site and get you started only for any furture maintance. Don't worry this isn't a sales pitch, I wouldn't do that here, we're are just students trying to get experience. Anyway if you have any questions please email me at melissafrueh@gmail.com and that goes for everyone who has questions about starting up a website. My husband is the tech. genius and know how to do everything when it comes to this. So please ask away, the internet is a great place to get your stuff seen by millions. For any who having read yet we are going to be starting a new site called The Artisan's Web. It's a community for all those who "create by hand" and take their work seriously and want to show it off. Come join, it's totaly free we just need pictures of your work and a bio. telling everyone about yourself.

I'm a website and print designer too. You can write to me off list and I'd be happy to help you figure out how to find a designer in your area, how much to spend, what you need content-wise, other options forsetting up your website yourself, and what it may entail! I love helping small and home businesses and people learn more about getting online. My company website is http://www.webprojkt.com Denise

I do mine myself. I use a WYSIWYG program. What You See Is What You Get. It's very easy and usually fun.

I've done mine myself, and it is being updated today, so check back later. I would like to add farmgirl sites so they can get exposure. Being on the web is like being a needle in a million haystacks. The more we do to tell people about our sites, the better. Definitely put your website on your vehicle! It's funny, but in listing on Ebay, I've increased traffic to my site by a lot. Last time I checked, I'd gone from 176 visits to over 2000! I was shocked. That wasn't why I listed in the first place, but it is an interesting result.
One thing... I have used a template to design my site, and while it is serviceable in the moment, the constraints are driving me nuts. I really want my own design, so I will definitely contact those of you that design sites, so I can get something better going.
