I thought I would give this until Friday, April 27, and then I would send out the list of those who are interested. Thanks
When I was a teenager I had a ton of pen pals and loved it. I was wondering if any of you girls would be interested in getting a pen pal list together. I know I love getting hand written letters and really miss writing "real life letters." If anyone would be interested just let me know and we will see where it goes.

I think most of the ladies on the Raok list aren't expecting on going writing. I think that is for one time act of kindness. I tried with the last list to make on going pen pals and noone wrote me back. I think Kathy a list just for pen pals would be good. I have about 15 ladies I write now and have for years . It is fun. I would be happy to write you. May be it would good to poll the ladies on the list and see if any of them would truly be willing to writing letters every month.

Oh...well, at least one person on the ROAK (rare, one of a kind...which we are...) / RAOK list wouldn't mind striking up a pen pal. :) Some farmgals have written in their descriptions that letters are among their interests. With so many personalities, there are many possibilities. I'm sorry to hear no one wrote you back, Elizabeth. That is sad and surprising. Maybe we can fix that. :) Good luck with the pen pal list. I think it's a great idea.

Thanks Elizabeth. I know we are all so busy any more and Mikki is right, computers has made keeping in touch so much easier but I truly miss receiving handwritten letters and sending them. I hope more are interested. I'll keep this open for about another week and then get in touch with a list to those who are interested.

My grandmother was a great teacher about handwritten letters. She saved most of them from her life-some from the 30's and 40's during world war II and such. She even instructed me on thank you notes and bread and butter notes. I would love to write to you, but how do I e-mail you? I haven't been on this for long.

You are so lucky to have those letters. They are such a great way to learn about everyday life in her lifetime. I love going to museums and such and reading old journals. They are so fascinating.

My Hand writting is wretched!!! But i really would love to be included too please.. & yes.. i will pitty those that have to decypher my letters.. but what a giggle i will get everytime i sit & think about it !!

I love making personalized card but never have anyone to send them too. Except family at birthdays of course. So I would love to write monthly letters to women around the farmgirl town.

I would like to be added as well. I was not going to do it until the girls wrote in that they had bad handwriting I do too! When I was a girl we learned from the Palmer method. Well, if you were good you got a little pin, well I could never get one so....I robbed my sisters and wore it to school! Of course the teacher yelled at me.One more note, I don't spell well either--gosh I'm a mess!!
