Fall has started to arrive here! We are having some chilly nights, but our days are still warm. Warmer then they normally are this time of year. The changing leaves are so pretty and make fall worth it! This picture doesn't do them justice.

Ohhh, so beautiful Krista! I am fall envious for sure! We will be LUCKY if we see a maple from someone's front yard changing color mid November, lol, that's how bad it is here!

I wish the leaves were turning here. I miss the fall colors of the leaves I grew up with in Illinois.

The only leaves turning for us are on our maple tree we planted last year and, unfortunately, I don't think it will last another year due to the lack of rain. Ed is nursing it along and for a bit it looked like maybe it will come back. Fingers crossed!

I think summer is finally going to be over -- 70s and 80s next week. This afternoon I turned the a/c off and said "See you next year!"

Beautiful! We are supposed to have a high of 75 by weeks
end! Our leaves are just beginning to turn and a few drift down that are yellow.
Not my picture, one of my Favorites from Pinterest.

Connie, I wish that tree was in my yard! It would be such a pretty site to look at everyday. Last week was our last summer warm week. We have been hit with a really bad storm and now the temps will only get into the 60's for a high.

Our weather is all over the place! We were in the upper 60's, but today it's 87, Saturday night it's down to 32! I'd say fall is here lol!

YES! We have had such a wet summer that the mosquitoes are terrible! I don't remember them ever being this bad. I'm ready for a frost to get rid of them!!! I do like all the seasons, but I'm ready to trade my flip flops and tank tops for boots and sweaters.

Heather, I wondered about all these 'skeeters' they are terrible. I am so ready for steady fall temps. 87 is not my idea of fall. I didn't know it could get this hot in October!

We're still in the 80s and have had no rain since early May but we have skeeters too. Tiny little ones; their bites are bigger than they are. I counted 11 on my arms last week when I woke up -- have to try to keep my arms under the covers. Benadryl cream works wonders.

Oh man I hate mosquitoes and we get them really bad in the summer. Right now the problem is more with flies. They are horrible. Every time you open a door to go outside 20 fly in.

Oh how I miss the leaf turning colors every fall. We have a few deciduous trees here in Florida but they usually don't turn color until late December and into January. Just when everyone is putting up Christmas trees and getting ready for Santa's visit, we are still in between late summer some days and a brief chill of what you have as Fall. Enjoy those gorgeous leaf changes for me!

I understand, Winnie! After visiting Massachusetts and New Hampshire, I was able to realize exactly what I am missing in California weather. We miss the seasons! We only have Summer and Slightly Cooler here. There is no real Fall or Winter like people get in the rest of this beautiful Country! It would be nice to have real seasons. My Husband and I really loved the beautiful fall colors.

Seasons in Northern California are very subtle. It could be said that we have only two -- wet and hot, but in between those we have a very short but wonderful spring and a lovely fall. You just have to look quick or you might miss them.

It would be so strange to live somewhere that didn't have changes in the trees for fall. I have been in Utah my whole life, so our weather and seasons are all I know. Over the last couple of years we haven't been getting snow for Christmas and it really messes with me. Snow and Christmas are an associated feeling, so if we don't have snow it doesn't feel like Christmas. I bet if I lived somewhere that the trees didn't change for fall, then it wouldn't ever truly feel like fall to me. I bet it's hard for those who move to states that really differ in seasons.

It truly is, Krista. When my husband retired we moved to Southern Florida. The gardening season confused me, because summer is too hot for vegetables. During Christmas one can go out in sandals and shorts, although in February there is a cold snap that requires sweaters. I was often embarrassed by the warm weather when my family braved the colder temperatures.
Kentucky is much more congenial, warm -even hot during the summer but snow in winter. Like you, I have noticed less snowfall. It seemed years ago that there was always snow on the ground

Vanessa, I agree. I tell my children stories about how much snow we used to have when I was a child and they have a hard time believing it. There was so much snow that they actually closed schools lol! That just doesn't happen anymore.

I have a picture of my dad sitting on top of his Montgomery Ward van between two drifts of snow that reached to the top of the roof. All my parents' slides were transferred to a thumb drive and we all got one. I will have to find it.
