Winnie I like pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream, but my favorite is pumpkin bread or pumpkin roll with creme cheese. When I had an afterschool group near Halloween, we did an activity with pumpkins. We bought everyone a small pie pumpkin and cut the top off so they could scoop it out. Once they had the pumpkin cleaned out, they would estimate how many seeds they thought it would be, and then count the actual seeds in their pumpkin. Then it became a math lesson. They had to figure out if they planted each of the seeds from their pumpkin, and it produced three pumpkins, how many pumpkins came from that one tiny pumpkin. The kids had a blast because it was messy, used markers to draw faces and take home seeds to plant the next year after they dried out. At the end of the year all of the kids said it was their favorite activity.
A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Winnie, please do not add me to the drawing but I wanted to participate in the conversation. I absolutely love pumpkins and anything pumpkin spice!I have grown my own pumpkins for 3 years now. The first year I lost all my pumpkins to army worms. Last year I ended up with a couple big pumpkins but one that was bigger than my little guy. This year I have 3 decent sized pumpkins but the plant has started to die. I think the pumpkins will be just fine for decorating our front porch since the cooler weather has arrived. But also this year I have mini pumpkins and a lot of them too! I haven't officially counted but my guess would be around 20. I am so excited to pick them and decorate the inside of my house with them. My kids also enjoy painting the little ones. I love making pumpkin rolls and plan to make another one tomorrow. My kids devour them. Everleigh and I enjoy pumpkin spice frappuccinos and pretty much anything else pumpkin spice flavored. Pumpkin pie is also a must for the fall time, but it always needs to be completely covered in whipping cream! If you can see any orange before you take a bite then there isn't enough whipping cream (Not cool whip that stuff is nasty) lol!

Oh Winnie. This giveaway sounds fantastic. I love pumpkin anything. It sure is the feeling of Fall. I have made cloth pumpkins to decorate my house along with many other Fall items that I have made. I love baking up a pumpkin pie, I also cut up a baking pumpkin and roast it to put in a salad with diced apple and pecans. It's like a Waldorf salad put with pumpkin. My front porch is so much like yours Denise, with the Mums and Pumpkins I also have a Scarecrow sitting on the bench.

I'm with you on no orange showing LOL! If there isn't any whipped cream I don't eat the pie. I made some pumpkin crumb cookies today and I have some pumpkin yogurt in my refrigerator. I've tried growing pumpkins but didn't have any luck.

I love fall! And I love pumpkins! I have grown pumpkins and had some beauties the first year. The second year I grew them the squash bugs found them. . UGH! They didn't completely destroy them that year, but they did the next. No matter what we did to control them, they still got them. I grew up on a farm (I now live on part of it) and my mom raised them. She was the BEST cook . . WOW!! We haven't had a garden for several years for two main reasons: 1) We have had severe drought the past few years and don't have enough water to water them through the season, and 2). Now that I have Parkinson's my body just won't let me do that kind of thing anymore. op One of our favorite year-round recipes is Baked Pumpkin Oatmeal, and during the holidays we like my Crunchy Walnut Topped pumpkin pie.! Bring on the pumpkins! And, yes, please add me to the giveaway. CJ

I love reading all these pumpkin comments and the recipes and ways of enjoying pumpkins all sound delish!! I wish I could give everyone a giveaway because all of you pumpkin lovers help keep the spirits of Fall lit despite the summer that refuses to leave some of us and the ever frustrating inability to actually grow pumpkins. LOL!!!

Connie, I love your pumpkin patch. Looks like a fun display to have around. Those Charlie Brown specials are so heartwarming. One day I hope to have grandchildren to share them with.
