Awhile back I spotted a cute light fixture in an upscale boutique.. , so, not one to walk away from a challenge… I could not resist…

I found a lampshade for $3 and a package of twinkling lites for $2,, gotta luv Thrift stores!
I also found a Hawaii shirt which will be repurposed into an apron at another time.

Well about an hour later and a dozen cloth pins… TaDa!

What a fun project! I can't wait to see your apron. I used a shirt of my grandpa's after he passed and made it into an apron for myself. I think they're a cute style of apron.

Grace, that turned out great! I bet it looks so neat when all the lights are out except for it. Where are you going to put it?

I tried to get the photo of my twinkling lights but even in steady on mode the photos just didn’t come out clear.. oh well!
Raining still so I will wait until tomorrow to hang this up on the patio..
I can hardly wait until Autumn, when we sit out in the evenings, mug of Irish coffee, twinkling lights and the (smokeless) fire pit keeping us toasty.

I am thinking about doing a scrappy ribbon theme on the 2nd lamp shade.
If I recall, Maryjane did one years ago and showcased it in her magazine,, around 2012-13…
Now to dig through my fabric scraps..
If I recall, I will need to cut up a gazillion 1x3” strips .. perfect project to do while watching reruns of ‘Perry Mason’..

Grace!! Perfect! For Fall nights outside! I remember that scrapy lampshade, that will be awesome!

I love lamps! I have a
A lamp love! LoL! I hate dark rooms, growing up in the early 1960's we had very few lamps!only ceiling lights.
I have 10 lamps in my living room. 5 in my dining room. 2 on my kitchen counters, 8 in my bedroom. Only 1 in the Bathroom on a shelf. Some are floor lamps to read by, 2 are on my fireplace mantle. 6 are up high on top of vintage cabinets so I can see my collections.
My family knows I am a nerd LOL!so they are used to it now!

OH Connie Sue,, rotflmbo!
In our house dad was a stickler for NO lights on in a room unless absolutely necessary!
And heaven forbid you walk out of a room for 10seconds leaving a light on!!! I can still hear him... "Grace Gertrud".. you know when your parents use both your 1st and middle name,, you are in trouble!! lol!

OH Grace! It was the same at my house! When your middle name was used.... it was serious!! I sure would love to trade my light Bill for my Grandparents!! LOL!
It's why I never used my middle name until I met Wanda Sue and thought how pretty was her name.

Yep, “Wanda Sue” always meant trouble! Then I joined MJF, and decided to embrace it, because if it’s good enough for Mary Jane then it’s good enough for me, and now you Connie Sue!

I can commiserate with all of you. When I was called “Debra Lynn” I knew I was in trouble, to this day I do not like being called my given name. Debbie is just fine for me:-)
But, I love Wanda Sue and Connie Sue so Southern and pretty and Grace Gertrude is a beautiful name as well.
