My sweeties big butt wore a hole in the truck seat. I carefully sewed it closed.

Way to go Vanessa. Isn't it crazy how car and truck seats always wear out right there!

I finished another UFO yesterday. It was another crochet kit that had a book and supplies. The kit was supposed to make a fox and a fawn. I finished the fox, but no matter what I did the fawn was not working. I finally googled the kit and found out that I am not the only one. Apparently the pattern is missing instructions and not correct. So for this UFO it's just the fox! But at least it's done!

I've also had to sew up car seats. It feels really good to be able to do it.

Very cute fox, Krista.

I once had a knitting pattern with incorrect directions. It was a ripple aghan pattern and no matter what I did, when I got to a certain row, I could not get it to come out correctly. Now, my mother was my go-to person for knitting and crochet, and this was before email and cell phones, so I slow-US-Mailed my mother the instructions and she started the afghan. It took her a few tries, but she finally figured out how the pattern was incorrect. She sent me the corretions - again by slow mail - and I was able to finish the afghan. I have no idea where that afghan is now. LOL!

One might be able to find the pattern corrections online. I have a book with a lace pattern in it that I was trying to get right. I took it to a yarn store and the clerk looked it up online, found the corrections and printed them out for me. I put that piece of paper in the book it I ever want to do that pattern again.

Linda, that is awesome your mom was able to figure it out. For those around me, I am the only one who knows how to crochet. So I don't really have that option lol. But since they are just tiny little amigurumi, I am not fretting over figuring the pattern out.

Marie, I did search online to see if I could find any corrections, but it was unsuccessful. To be honest, all the patterns in the book are lacking and I am not a fan of how they look. So I am not heartbroken over the pattern. If I decide to make a fawn in the future, I will find a pattern I like better.

Krista, love that cute fox you just finished! He is adorable and cute as punch.

Vanessa , repairing that car seat sounds like a hard task. Congrats of getting it done! The repair looks great!

This month #8 was the number drawn at the July meeting. August meeting is tomorrow so I got the top done just under the wire. These were blocks from a retreat about 15+ years ago where the theme was curves and circles. I made lots of quarter circle blocks and didn't have a clue what to do with them. Finally I just sewed them together. Looks like something Picasso would sew.

I like the arrangement of blocks, Judith. Gives more movement to the quilt.

Love it Judith! The blue block that's half circles in light and dark blue really catches my eye. I wonder what a quilt of random colors of blocks like that would look like.

Heather — I think a quilt with random colors would look much better than this. I wish I had thought of that back when I made the blocks.
