As I get closer to 70 in a few more years I have been thinking of all my wonderful Farmgirl Sisters and friends in there 70’s and 80’s. The Wisdom they have, the stories and memories they have to share, I want to hear their stories and listen to any memories and wisdom they want to share with all of us. How special will it be to get to know these wonderful women so much better. In our Wildflower HH we have a very special older lady who has been sharing her stories with me and others for years. I told her she needs to write her memories and stories down in a journal now to share with family and friends later. She told me she did not think anyone would be interested. I told her gently that I thought she was wrong as I want to hear about her life and I know others will too. It is important, it is history, it is love, it is caring all rolled in to one.
So, please all of us 60 and over share your stories with us, I for one want to hear them. I will never be too old to learn something new and offer any wisdom you have.
Then here it will be in MaryJanes History for others to read for years to come.
Thank you Beautiful Ladies.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Sadly, times are changing. People are more careful about stopping to help someone, and likewise, we are more fearful of those who do stop. It is sad. I ran out of gas years ago on the freeway. Some bad things were going on in our area, and I was really scared. I man pulled up behind me and asked if I needed help. I told him that I had run out of gas, but that I would be okay. He went back to his truck and put 5 gallons of gas in my car from a can that he had in his truck. He got in his car and drove away without another word. I have always been grateful for his kindness toward me. I try to help others when I can.

I had the most enjoyable 10 minutes getting rid of all the annoying emails in my inbox. At first I unsubscribed, but then I found the "report as spam and phishing button, and voila! All on the way to Frankfort for a tour of Rebecca Ruth Chocolates. Pictures soon!

It's sad but good people are afraid to stop nowadays. I recall once running out of gas and getting in a car with a unknown man who offered to take me to the gas station several miles away. Absolutely no way would I do that now. Trusting strangers seems to be a thing of the past.

Oh no Tara so glad your husband could take care of it for you. I guess there are very few good Samaritans around these days.

Oh Tara that is terrible. I am like you, I know how to change a tire but also know I am not strong enough, especially to get the lug nuts off. Happy your husband found you, I hope you did not have to wait to long. Shame on all those who passed you by:-)

Driving home from Walmart and bam. I knew I hit something, pulled over and saw this=ohhh. I thought I could make it home, nope. I had to drive a bit to find a flat area to pull off road, not easy when in the sticks. I called my husband and he found me. No one stoppped to help, even the mail carrier drove around me. I am not strong enough to change a tire. This has NEVER happened to me. Not a good start to 2025. The pin is 5 1/2 inches long.

Looks like everyone is off to a positive 2025! I love cooking at home and eat out of our pantry all the time. When you cook at home, you can use real food, and make healthier options.

No need to go to the store as the snow moved in. I have everything needed to last months.
Today hubby and I canned. Long morning and my hands hurt. Good food for pantry. Dinner: cheese burger, collards and corn from 2024 garden.

Carrots and blueberry preserves

Tara, I have not heard of the Jan Pantry Challenge, but I can see where it is a good idea for any month. You scored some really great buys.

Anyone doing the Jan pantry challenge? No eating out, cooking from scratch and using what foods in your house/garden. I am limiting trips to grocery store to once every 2.5 weeks and keeping buys at $25 or less on that visit. No impulse buys-eh? I may need to go to farmer's market for eggs and salad greens. We were in Spartansburg for an appt. Decided to make quick trip inside store to use bathroom. On way out I noticed honey(made in Traveler's Rest SC on special. This stuff is $20 a jar, but it was marked down to $4.99 a jar. Oh I grabbed 2 jars. And there were bags of shredded carrots for 99 cents, bag of kale salad also 99 cents and 4 pack of avacado mash 99 cents. How could I pass up the deals.

My girlfriend in Colorado sent me this this morning so I thought I would share it with all of you. A wonderful daily affirmation for myself.

As you step over the threshold of time into a new year, receive this blessing: May health return to you if it has been absent and abide with you if it is present; May the challenges you face be easier than you imagined and the surprises you discover more joyful than you expected; May your love touch many lives and your compassion offer hope to even more; May peace surround you like the hours of a day and wisdom guide you with eyes that never close.

Vanessa, what a great photo!

Looks like they are getting the road ready for some snowfall. I don't think we will get any amount until Sunday. I guess I'll have to enjoy when we get it. I didn't get my white Christmas this year.

I sent off the newspaper pages Friday night and have felt relieved ever since. Today we walked around Chicago in the rain.
The girls and I also went to the Museum of ice cream. I dipped in the sprinkle pool.

Well said! Thanks Debbie for sharing this with us. I too look in the mirror and wonder how the years could possibly fly by so fasts! It is humbling for sure to realize my age and all the changes that have come with that process.
