I just wanted to say that I made the minty linen water in MaryJane's book on page 381, and was ironing our Easter outfits with it this weekend. It's WONDERFUL!!! I don't think I'll go back to plain water EVER again! Ironing actually felt like a treat with that smell - I know it sounds over-the-top, but it really did!

XOXO, Libbie

So true, Libbie. I was disappointed when I sniffed the YY sample at the store...I used to live right next to a bush and fell in love with the scent before I knew what it was. I find the citrus brings the smell back into balance and ends up smelling more like the real flower does. Ah. I've been packing my bottle of spray everywhere with me, freshening up rooms. There are so many good uses for this!

We make a difference.

MMMMmmmmm...lemon and ylang ylang sounds like such a wonderful combination - I also really like grapefruit and ylang ylang - it yy goes so well with the "citrusy" scents, doesn't it?

I love the new linen spray I whipped up last night. Lemon and Ylang Ylang.

We make a difference.

You know, if you used white rum instead of vodka, and made it minty, it WOULD be a mojito!!!! Too funny!!!

# ** # ..~ Wow, I think I like ironing. ~ ~ It's like a mojito. But you're putting it on the laundry?

Think I'll make some Bay Rum linen spray. Wonder how that would do? Soak bay leaves in white rum, dilute with water?

My lemon tree is blooming, and the living room smells divine. Wonder if I can steep the oils out of them into the alcohol? Worth a try.

We make a difference.

It really is nice - I happen to LOVE the peppermint, but somehow lemon is beckoning in the next batch. I might put in some lemon essential oil and just a *bit* of lemon zest...It really is like a steam bath! Hey - ironing AND a facial at the same time?!?!? Now, THAT'S what I call farmgirl efficiency!

Ok...I had to return my copy of the book to the library. There's a waiting list for it (Yay MJ!) so I've been dropping hints at home about my birthday. Cross your fingers. I may just happy birthday myself when we go into town today. :)

I loved the linen water recipe and can't wait to make some...I've got tons of variations in mind to try, and the weather is turning, the clothesline beckoning...I love spritzing the bedsheets with it. Lovely way to fall asleep indoors thinking of outdoors.

We make a difference.

Think of it as the first form of "Febreeze" :) A way to lightly scent fabrics to keep them fresh.

It is a good way to keep your linens and rooms smelling fresh. The French use linen water when they iron their sheet(Like I would do that) and they also spray some on the sheet before making the bed. You can use any essential oil you prefer. Spray it when you iron anythinf like Libbie does. MB

I keep reading/hearing a lot about linen water, but was exactly does it do and can it used for? I know many people using in their laundry.

Jonni-

You know, MaryJane's book is the same way for me. I don't know how many times I have read through it but each time I find something new to catch my eye! Maybe it is because different things feel more pertinent as different things are in flux in my life :)

I'm glad to hear that--I actually bookmarked that page, among many others in the book. I picked it up again, and I'm STILL finding things I don't remember seeing before. Wonderful!

I'll try it (and all the rest of my "to do's" this weekend!
