Does anyone know of organic or natural hair spray? I have used hair spay everyday since High School, have tried the gels, mouses etc. and they tend to be too heavy for my very fine thin hair. Thanks for your help.

Okay... There are actually TWO different recipes here. They are from, "Natural Beauty at Home" by Janice Cox.

LEMON HAIR SPRAY

- zest from 1 lemon peel, yellow part only
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 Tbsp. vodka

- Place the zest in a ceramic or glass bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Let sit for several hours or overnight.
- Remove the zest with a slotted spoon, or pour the water through a funnel with a coffee filter to remove any solids from the liquid).
- Stir the vodka into the lemon water solution.
- Pour solution into a clean spritzer bottle and use before or after styling your hair. It can be used on both wet or dry hair.

SUGAR HAIR SPRAY

- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. warm water

- Dissolve sugar in the water, stirring well to mix.
- Pour sugar water into a clear spritzer bottle.
- Spray on your hair before setting or after to hold your style in place.

Hope these help! Let me know how they work for you!

In her book, she also has recipes for styling gels, shampoos, conditioners and a whole host of other natural beauty products. You might want to check it out, Lisa Marie! It's pretty great!

Hugs -

Sounds interesting. I'm willing to try most anything, tired of inhaling chemicals everyday.

Lisa - I have a book somewhere that recommends a sugar water mixture, dispensed through a spray bottle. Apparently, it really works! I just have too many flowering bushes in my yard to have braved it... I don't want the bees to come to ME! :) When I get a chance, I'll try to find the "recipe" for you this weekend. It might be worth a shot! Hugs - Nini
