Any suggestions how to easily remove these things from clothing --- particularly fleece jackets?
We tried duct tape and even the shop vac -- nothing removes them except picking off them off one by one.

Nini - You are so sweet, but beggar lice are not "lice", but are sticky, clingy seeds that grow in the woods and all over. When you walk by them, they adhere to your clothing and you have to pick them off one by one. I have heard that they inspired the invention of velcro - but don't know if that's true. Susan - I have no idea. But they sure sound miserable. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I don't know if this will help you at all, but when we were foster parents, the agency would always have us keep the kids clothes in garbage bags outside in the detached garage for a few days (we'd buy them new stuff to wear the night they arrived). Apparently, bugs like this do not live long without a warm-bodied host. I'm not sure if they can survive very long on dead skin cells and stuff like that, but maybe if you put the clothing outside in garbage bags like this for a few days and then washed them and run them through the dryer on high heat you can get rid of them. I don't think the dead ones will stay latched onto the fabric, and the washer and dryer should help remove any dead bugs. Eghads - you poor thing! I feel so bad for you!! Good luck! Hugs - Nini
