Ok big question ladies, its my first time making laundry soap and i need to know what kind of pan do i use? Can i use a pan that i already own. and just clean it good before i use it for anything else? Does it need to be enamel or stainless steel? Or do i need to purchase a new pan and use it only for soaps?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sandy |

I just used a pan I wasn't using anymore. I have also found that I don't even transfer into bottles, I just leave in Pan and put lid on and scoop out. I have a ton of those measuring cups that come off the bottled liquid.
Seems to me a lot more easy & less messy to pour. |

i make the dry laundry soap, adn i love it. it's a lot cheaper, better for the clothes, and the washer. i won't go back.
havne't ever tried the liquid version.
Some dreams are worth the risk it takes to make them real.

So true, Nicole. I first made a batch of dry laundry soap over 2 years ago, and I will never go back to store bought either. In fact, I just made another batch yesterday. Lasts me months.

I've never made the liquid laundry detergent. I love making the dry detergent and it has always worked well. If your liquid one seems to daunting, try the dry form. I have well water and an HE machine and no problems. My laundry is so clean and fresh. If you are cooking it, though, I'd use an old pot, maybe find one at a garage sale? Either way, I think you will love making your own detergent. Once you do, you will never want to go back to store bought!

I just use one of my regular pots and clean it well after. I always use a spatula to scrape all of the soap out.

Good question Sandy! I recently made my own soap also. I used my large stainless pot and just cleaned it and all the utensils I used real well after I was done. I soaked them in hot soapy water to get the gook off and then ran it all through the dishwasher. Everything came out squeaky clean with no residue, scent or taste.
