we have a wood table, looks like it is varnished. Well I put something hot down and now have a white ring. Any suggestions to get that off?

thanks,

Murphy's soap didn't work either.

Sand and refinish. I had the same thing happen with a cheap table from Target. I pulled it out of a dumpster and the top was quite damaged. Sanding and finishing took an afternoon to do and it I'm sure the polyurethane I used is much more durable.

That or sand then use beeswax or varnish. To make it durable put a glass or plexy top on it. The hardware store can cut to size and it's not that expensive.

There's something called Howard's Restor-a-finish that is supposed to be a miracle worker at restoring finishes without refinishing, you just wipe it on. I've used it on other problems and it does work, might be worth a shot?

"Come to the cliff, " He said. "We are afraid," they said. "Come to the cliff," He said. They came. He pushed them. And they flew.

try cleaning it with murphy's oil soap..if the mayo didn't work i don't know what will.....
did the ring go through the varnish? if so, use a walnut or something to "stain" the ring then some more varnish?????

wow- bummer....
