I am thinking about purchasing a vacuum, one of the robotic styles that you can set on a timer. I have all wood floors throughout the house, a decision you make when you have 6 dogs, no carpet to worry about. Does anyone have experiance with one of these contraptions? I was also considering the swiffer with the vacuum built on (way cheaper, but you get what you pay for).

I'm so busy I don't know if I just found a rope or lost my horse!

I heard a pretty horrible story of a roomba "cleaning up" a doggie accident. The entire machine went in the garbage and the home owner had a huge mess to clean up.

Turned me off the entire roomba idea! Can you imagine?

I have a roomba. It stops if one cat hair gets caught in the wheels, or if it gets hooked up under a chair, or.... If I stay in the room, I let it do its thing. I've set it to vac and go outside, only to come in to find it stuck somewhere. I hate vacuuming, so I do like the roomba.

I'd be worried about the dogs chasing the roomba. LOL

I don't know if the newer incarnations of Roomba are better, but the first generations left much to be desired.

I have the swiffer vac, and I can tell you it doesn't hold a charge for very long at all and takes a long time to recharge. I do have a O Cedar mop and love it, the bottle is refillable and the pads you throw in the washer. Roxanna
