How did you start your day? Did you read a devotional?

What did you tackle today?

Is it getting better?

I have to start cleaning out one long herb garden today. I'm still working in the one entrance way also. I cannot wait to rip up the carpet. This old house is frustrating me with my allergies - a daily battle.

Today, I plan to work in a portion of my front flower beds. I am also putting my attention to the pile of mucking boots, horse riding boots and what not, in one hallway. I'm splurging on a shoe rack to help tidy the area. Some day, on my wish list, we plan to screen in that door area and create a "muck" room for boots and coats.

I can now walk into my spare bedroom!! Haven't been able to do that since last summer. Getting time to shift clothes around - winter to storage and down with the summer stuff. Going to start orange oiling all my doors, cupboards and baseboards, deep cleaning my tile and grout in the kitchen and bathroom and dusting off my walls which are T&G and the dust collects on the grooves just horribly. Then it's onto power washing the deck and porch and washing the outside furniture that DH brought up last week. We're on a roll.

After cleaning out the fridge, I think next week I will tackle another "big" project. I'll be back to update my progress.

I have jumped in with both feet! We are getting the house ready to sell and we are (obviously) moving. We have filled up the back of our Excursion several times. Also sold my sons bearded dragon and fifty gallon tank. Have one more tank to unload. Have a car up for sale and repainting several rooms this week. Also still have to re-floor three rooms (dreading).

Thank you so much Amy! I may have to "splurge" too.

Today, I am digging through my bedroom closet. I have to use a lot of restraint today. I am so easily tempted to stop and finish, or start, a project that got buried in there. I really, really, need to get it done before spring planting. I'll have peace of mind.

I belong to a yahoo group called House_Proud. It is a small group of woman that email the group daily or so, with our TA DA lists! It is so nice to post those, and read everyone else's. I like reading what my friends are doing. We do a lot of encouraging and reminding. There is a 12 week rotation for cleaning. Some of us follow. It is the TA DA's that we love and the small group atmosphere. Come check us out.

Today I played hookie (shhh...don't tell dh). I worked on a dishcloth for my store, and my knitted block blanket. I'll pick another area to clean up next week.

However, I am keeping tabs on my cleaned up areas and consistently making sure the kids don't leave things behind.

I'm doing a room by room sweep, did the kitchen already. I have a one year rule; use it, repurpose it or give it to someone who can. Doing this every year really helps cut clutter, and it's a great time to clean in all those dark corners too!

Today I am decluttering the computer area (shared by 7 people here). I am also cleaning in my bedroom, and picking up where things got let out.

Got to my craft closet - twice. OMG - can't believe the stuff I found that I had completly forgotten about. Into the donate pile it went. Rearranged my containers and got rid of two totes. For some reason I felt the best after I got this closet done compaired to the other areas of the house. Good thing I have a large back end to my car - I have a lot of bags and boxes to donate to Goodwill this next week. Then I can hit the spareroom closet and start all over again. Yippy!!!
Keep the good work going ladies.

I have been tossing in a load of laundry before I go to bed, then popping it into the dryer in the morning. I also set all dishes, pans, etc to soak right after use. Then before I go to bed, I rinse and fill the dishwasher and wash what is left like pots and pans. That way I start the day with a empty sink. Then I put away what is in the dishwasher (if there was enough to run it, I will only run it full) put away the pots and pans that air dried overnight, and put the load in the dryer in the morning. My kitchen is so much better this way. I fill the pots and pans with water right on the stove with a bit of dishwashing soap. Then I just have to give it a quick wash after it has soaked. It has saved my sanity.

I follow flylady but only for the weekly missions. It reminds me to get to those thing I would not think of and keeps things gutted on a regular basis. No need to do a major overhaul anymore.

I watch that hoartding show too and boy does it get me going. After watching that show I just get myself into a cleaning frenzy and go wild in the house. It's a good insentive to get one moving. I really have to get going on my craft closet tho - time to do some sorting out.

Today was Playmobile day for my daughter. She had to find every little piece of Playmobile and put it in a two bin stacker that I got her. All the bigger pieces like the castle etc got put in the corner. It will get a place in the closet when it is done.

I am taking a day for each large collection of toys. I am going to put bins in the living room. I will mark them Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, etc That way we will be able to tell which collection is getting too big and weed out the little crappy McDonald's toys etc. Then I will set the timer and have her clean out for that time period. This will help keep "I don't know where to start" or "I am too tired" from happening.

I also made myself add that I am going to buy a bin or storage every pay until the apartment is tidyed up. Everything will have a place to be.

Today I came to work at my nanny job. I started my day with praying as I drove to work. Since I been here today . I have cleaned the pantry out, did all the laundry and cleaned drawers out. Straightened the cabinets. I now have everyone sleeping so I placed my Avon order, worked on lesson plans for my other job.
At home Im trying to get my craft room in order as JoAnn's sales have caused me to stock up . Im working on downsizing my kitchen. Then off to clean out my closet. That hasn';t been done in awhile. Also this winter I need to clean the attic out as I know it's full.
Happy Organizing,
Ruthie Ann

I'm on a rampage!! Went through the bathroom cupboards and drawers and tosses out all the old meds we had plus other stuff that hadn't used in a long time. Also started to make a pile of donations to Goodwill clearing out the closets. Next mission is to go through the kitchen and clean and organize and toss. Have way too many things that I could donate and someone else could use. 2012 is my year to simplify my life around the house. With less "stuff" around the cleaning will go a lot easier. Just wish DH was on the same page. My list is getting longer each day of things I think of to clean and re-organize or toss. It's really a great feeling after I get even the smallest thing accomplished. One little thing each day eventually adds up to a lot down the road.
