Does anyone else do Flylady? How is it working for you?

Yup Amy and Starlett.

Letting go of perfection is the most important thing I think, and daily cleaning.

I cleaned a horrible apartment-my husband is a hoarder. In about 3 months. I did not do 15 minutes a day though cause my health just couldn't do it. So I would visualize a square of a area, I wanted to be cleared each day. And I would shred paper for about 15 minutes a day. (he likes to hoard paper most!). I can't believe I got through it in 3 months. It did take 3 shredders though! I killed two of them! I learned you can't shred for 15 minutes straight. Shred for 5 minutes at a time three times a day. Otherwise you kill the shredder! lol

I have used her off and on for about 8 years. It's a great starting point when your are feeling overwhelmed. I usually follow pretty closely until I get back under control again. I think the key is tweeking what she gives you to fit your own life. The daily room cleaning project is great. I love that I can do one project a day and have a completely clean room in one week. These are always the thing I would never thing to add to my daily cleaning and they make such a huge difference.

She has a bunch of good points so if you can stick with it for a while I think you'd like it. She does send out a lot of email but if it is too much just hit the delete button until you feel you can start doing them again. The 15 minute rule helps in so many areas not just cleaning. And the 27 fling boogie is kinda fun! Happy clean year!

Good boy Hobbs! I love and miss you.

oh yes, I use it and it has helped me more that I can say.....the key is babysteps and sticking with it 15 minutes at a time everyday.....if you don't like the emails, you can get them in a digest form only once a day.....get up, get dressed to your shoes and tell yourself you can do anything for 15 minutes at a time.....plus, with the swish and swipe you bathrooms are ALWAYS presentable no matter who drops by and you never, ever again have to scrub away weeks worth of dried toothpaste globs in your sink because you have wiped it down everyday......trust me, it takes less time than you think to stay on top of the dirt rather than dealing with it when it becomes a crisis and your mother-in-law is coming over. The decluttering step is the biggest helpful tool you will find there. Do it and do not move forward until you have actually decluttered every single room......I actually do not have to stop ANY visitor that comes to my door and talk to them on the front porch instead of inviting them in......that peace of mind has been priceless to me. I work 60 hours a week, have growing children and grandchildren, have a spouse who works full time too plus have a menagerie of 10 longhorn cattle, 52 chickens, two dogs and 9 cats plus two very active elementary and middle school children still at home and suffer immensely with finding treatments for my depression and anxiety disorders.....if Flylady works for me, it will work for anyone. The biggest hurdle for me was to **get over the P word** or perfection.....I will not always have the cleanest house in any square mile of my house but I will have the most welcoming. In my control freak frenzy of trying to find a way to cope with my home and depression, I came up with this mission statement: "Starletta's home will enhance the health and well-being of all who live or visit there. My home will create and promote a safe place with an atmosphere of peace and order and model an excellent example of homemaking and hospitality. It is the center of our family where we wll will enjoy the freedom to do the things that are most enjoyed in a clean and harmonious environment." I'm sending huge farmgirl {{{hugs}}} your way. And, if you ever need a pep-talk, you know to find me here with the other farmgirls LOL

Amy, I do it, but I made my own schedule & I just have her on Facebook (usually I just end up ignoring it!). I made up a schedule, although this month, I totally have NOT followed it. I think I better start over/again in January & make sure I stay on top of it! It's so much easier when I have a schedule or a plan. If you want, I can send you a copy of mine. It's not super intense or anything, but it covers all the areas of my apartment & does work if you have discipline lol. Good luck!

Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.

I tried it a couple of years ago and dropped it only a few days later. I couldn't cope with the ton of e-mails I kept getting all day and night.

One idea I got from Fly Lady, though, is one I still use today, and that's to start with the (stainless steel) sink, make it gleam, wipe it down with baby (or mineral) oil -- it really does motivate you to keep going, but even if you don't, you still have a beautiful sink :)
