Today in the course of my cleaning I came across my "important papers" folder-- You know the place. It's where social security cards, titles, transcripts, shot records, contracts and certificates (completion, birth, death, marriage etc) live.

Everyone knows how weird little things end up in there that you once thought was important enough to be stored with such lofty priority.

Here are today's rejects:
- A two sided business card for "Fiestas Y Eventos" and "Llantera Valdez Tire & Wheels". Your one stop shop for bounce house and chair rentals as well as rims and car repairs. I have a very limited grasp of spanish and the business cards are 100% en espanol.

-A print out from august 2010 stating that my "baby girl" (no name) was added to my health insurance.

- The result of an unemployment insurance appeal from 3 years ago.

- Checks in my mother's name for a bank account she hasn't had in 2 years

- 100 + coupon sheets for my husband's favorite drive through 24 hours taco shop.

- Oregon Ferret Shelter's "Guide to Ferret Care". The Ferrets I received this with passed of old age 3 years ago.

Of you choose to play this game, be sure to share your results!

ha! I went through my wallet the other day and found a receipt from 3 years ago! I was saving it for some reason, I'm sure, but for the life of me I couldn't even remember where I'd put what I'd bought!!! LOL.

I recently cleaned out a folder labeled Good Ideas/Projects. I have put things in this folder for years. Funny thing was I went on to do some of those things and never remembered they were in the folder! My bottle trees were one of them. The fencing around my kitchen garden was in there. Wish I had remembered that cause it took days on the internet to find a supplier. Funniest thing was an article on backyard chickens from 10 years ago! I did not remember I had wanted them that long ago.
After going through that folder I now have lots of projects lined up for after the move.

How hiarious and, shall we say, random?

It is funny you posted this, because just yesterday I went through my boxes of "momentos"....things I have kept throughout my life because they were important once. I threw away (you are not going to believe this) my diary I kept from my first year of high school through the day I got married (the first time). I threw away a certificate saying I helped a lot with The Sugarplum Fair, a fund-raiser for the local ballet company, a set of turtle birthday cards sent to me by a friend who had a thing for turtles, an essay I wrote in senior year about being in outdoor theatre, another one about a movie I saw, and candy wrappers from an old slumber party. I have discovered an interesting thing I did not expect to feel as I have grown older. You begin to throw away things that meant a lot to you once, because you realize that no one else will care about them, and also you may not even want anyone to see them at all!
