Talk about the blind leading the blind. My girlfriend and I made our first batch. She had gathered up all the stuff as per my instructions. Well, first there wasn't enough stuff for a full batch of the recipe that I wrote down. So we reread all the post of your recipes and even went to the Duggers web site and looked at their recipe. Then we kinda combined them all. After we had all the fels grated through the food processor and got it all mixed up we found another bar of fels that was hiding. So we just left it out. The first good thing about "our" recipe is that it fit perfectly in two of my big Gladlock containers. She took her half home and now we can't wait till we can wash a load of cloths. We have no idea of how much we are supposed to use. We have read anywhere from two tablespoons to 1/2 cup, warm water/cold water, do not use hot water. Oh well, we'll see.

Now I have to go in the kitchen and clean up the soap making tools. Sounds like an oxymoron. Clean up the soap.

Belle- the thing about the warm/cold water is that Borax starts converting to hydrogen peroxide when it is heated to a certain temperature so if you wash your darks in cold water it cold lighten them. Washing whites in hot is a good idea.

Belle, I started making my own soap too! It is a little messy...that is an oxymoron! I just love it though, cleans really well and smells fresh too!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
