Does anyone have ideas about how to get rid of boxelder bugs? We've had tons of them this winter. The back of our house faces south and I think they are coming in the basement window well that faces south. I'd like something to put in the window well to stop them from coming in. I keep sucking them up with the vacuum cleaner - but they're definitely wearing out their welcome.

Angela - thanks for the info. I'll give it a try - especially in the basement window well that faces the south. We've had them before - but never this bad during the winter. They just keep coming and coming... I agree with you Jenny - ick!

We have them here as well...they love the sunny south side of my house..which happens to be the front porch!!! They gather on the screen door and front window alot..ick! It has been too cold right now for any to be out but when it warms up even a little bit they will be out. I fight them all spring.

Try a vinegar/soap/water spray and they should be history. Soap and vinegar both kill and repel them!
