Is it just me or does housework/garden work get pushed to the side when the weather is really hot? We had a few 95 degree days here in cool/wet Washington and it totally zapped my energy. I suppose you get used to heat or if you have A/C then it isn't as big a deal, but with hot days I just couldn't find the will to scrub toilets!

Thank goodness today is cooler. I tackled some weeding that has been long neglected and found some eggs hidden in the garden. Looks like my girls liked the shadier spot than being in their house too. lol

I too like to do a fall cleaning. Now that my girls are back in school, I hope to start it today. We live in a very dusty area - gravel alleys & by a quarry that blasts 3 times a day. I get grit on everything. We change our furnace filter every 2-3 months - this time it was caked with dust!

I feel better getting all the yuck out before we close the windows for the season.

Yes yes yes!! Now that we've had a little bit of relief, a few cool and rainy days, I found that i'm doing a lot more housework. And not just the normal things, but the Junking out, the sorting, the organizing etc. A lot of it is because our upstairs level get's sooo much hotter than downstairs, so I just avoid going up there, period.
Even down here though, I totally re-organized my kitchen yesterday, and enjoyed it!

it's just too hot to clean or cook don't feel much like doing either

our greatest glory is not in never falling but in getting up every time we do (confucious)

I'm really wanting those Pollen window screens that keep out most of the dust. That would be so awesome. I have three kids and usually three more with my niece and nephews. My house never stays clean!

Home is a gift that should be opened every day.

That seems to be me too!
I do Fall Cleaning instead of Spring Cleaning.
Yea, the weird storms that have been coming through left DIRT on everything.
Remember those Dust Bowl stories? That's what my house seemed like. I had just tidied everything up and this guster came in - I swear the wind was sideways at 50 mph. Took all the dirt from the machine rental lot across from my house and blew it right in. I was cleaning the car and saw the clouds gathering but though, awh, it's not a big deal. Had all the house windows open to let fresh air in...
Sigh...

I am exactly the same way. Come fall, & I am cleaning, painting & making up for a summer of hot sweaty days & nights.

I have to agree the heat just does me in. I have no desire to cook or clean. The yard forget it...I live in middle GA hot is the norm here for the summer with a high humidity. I just do what I have to to get by, Barbara Please send us a cool breeze:)

Don't forget to laugh!

I personally don't feel there is ever a good time to scrub toilets. I think my house is just dirtier in the summer. The windows are all open and the fields are being cut and the dust from the driveway add up to about an inch of dust on everything. Plus two shedding dogs. I could clean the house to a shine and within and hour it would be right back to where I started. Cleaning really should just be a winter activity :)
