I just took my husband's fancy dress shirts out of the wash to hang them up to dry & all his white nice shirts are dyed partially pink from a dress I had bought used at a garage sale Seriously, it does *not* look good. It's not an all over color. It's all splotchy.

Laundry is one of my husband's push buttons & he won't be happy if his fancy embroidered dress shirts are ruined. Is there anything that I can do? I have to wash his shirts in cold/cold because he doesn't want them to shrink, so they were washed in cold/cold w/handmade dry laundry soap. Is there anything that I can do to fix it?

**Update** I scrubbed the shirts by hand using Boraxo & Zote soap on the splotches. It looked a scant better, but was still stained & splotchy, esp in the seams & collar area, so I hung it up on the line in the sun & figured I better go & call my husband so he could be prepared for it when he got home (& BTW, he was very understanding). I just pulled the shirts off the line & they are *White, White, White* I can't believe it! So now my husband will get a good surprise when he gets home -Yay!

Another idea is to try a product called "white king" at the laundry aisle. It is a pretty strong powdered whitening agent. Possibly powdered bleach?

soak them in some ammonia & cold water then re-wash, or use some Zote soap or Kirk's Castile, (bar soap). Both are great for stains
It should come out. Also, if you leave them on the line long enough, the sun will naturally bleach them. I have had many tomato splotches on my tee shirts that miraculously dissapear after a day in the sun.
