I just received my first issue of MaryJanesFarm magazine, I love it!
When I saw the patterns for making the produce bags, I thought just what I wished for! Instead of using the mosquito netting, Joannn's doesn't have it, I used a sturdy tulle called "Scrubby" in bright green (looks organic). Got this from Joann's. It sewed up beautifully and it is quite sturdy. I used it today to bag peaches. It felt good not to use those plastic bags! Thanks MaryJane for the great idea!!

I know what you mean about veggies wilting. It seems that when you get the vegetables from the supermarket, they're already "older" so naturally they'll go bad faster. But I also remember when I was a child and we moved to a house, which had an old refrigerator with metal bins and drawers. The vegetables lasted much longer. In fact my mom saved some of the drawers when we had to replace the fridge. I have one of the drawers in the garage. I should wash it out and and put it to the test! I'll let you know. I'm also wondering if the vegetables were placed in glass containers if that would help?

I've been thinking about doing this but I've been wondering about keeping the produce fresh. Some of the time I don't even bother with a bag at all and that produce always seems to wilt faster in the refrigerator even in the crisper drawer. How do you keep your veggies fresh in the fridge?
