Anyone else try the MJF recipe for the tub scrub? It has baking soda, salt, tea tree and citrus oil. Ok, it WORKS. Sure, my arms got a workout, but it removed the funky junk from my tub. I practically had to squint my eyes from the blinding white light which came from my clean tub surface, lol.

I did find that I needed to add more salt, but it worked great!

I believe it was:

1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup salt
10 drops citrus oil
5 drops tea tree oil

Is that correct?

I use baking soda a lot but will try with the added oomph of salt.

Most of those cleaners you get at the drug store are useless.

Loyce,

I used regular salt. The salt has larger particles for more 'scrubbing action'. And I'm sorry, when I say citrus oil, I meant any citrus oil. I have lime, tangerine, and orange and use them interchangeably.

Suzanne, I love castile soap, too. I typically use almond scent as well.

BTW, ladies, I have a white sink which is NOT enamel, it is some kind of terrible plastic (YUK), and it absorbs all kinds of stains. Used the 'Tub Scrub' on it and it worked like a dream!

I've had good luck using baking soda and castille soap as a kind of soft scrub. Sometimes I add tea tree oil and sometimes a little citrus essential oil. I buy Dr. Bonner's castille soap with an almond scent in bulk. Suzanne

Do you use regular table salt, rock salt or kosher salt? Does it make a difference? Also, does it need to be citrus oil or can it be lemon, orange, lime? Thanks.

Sounds like I need to get some citrus oil! I'll bet it works like a charm.

Thanks for posting this! Chris

Good timing. I have all the ingredients on hand and the bathroom is on my list for tonight ( really it was on my list yesterday, but didn't get to it).

Thanks,
Kathy

Hummm,
Thank you for posting this.
My tub is disgusting even though I use the soft scrub mix.
