Posted - Jun 01 2010 : 07:30:31 AM Hi! does anyone have a recipe for/thoughts on a cleaning previously-used (by someone else I don't know) bed? The Universe presented me with a beautiful bedstead over the week-end, but I want to clean it really well with something green if I can. I'd like to use something with no mineral spirits or strange ingredients.
Thanks!

Posted - Jun 10 2010 : 09:07:00 AM Here's a recipe I got from Dave Ramsey's frugal site: Homemade Dust and Furniture Polish
Mix in a sprayer bottle:
1 cup olive oil 1/2 cup lemon juice
Shake well and apply a small amount to a flannel cleaning rag or cleaning cloth. Spread evenly over furniture surface. Turn cloth to a dry side and polish dry.
The lemon juice will de-germ the wood and lift any hand-oils and whatnot. Olive oil will help moisturize the wood.

Posted - Jun 05 2010 : 5:21:31 PM I've used a mix of half olive oil and half vinegar for cleaning furniture. Just rub it on with an old rag then polish it with another clean rag. If you make too much you could probably use it on salad!
