I can't remember what book I read where the protagonist would just say "well, I guess we've got it to do" when they were facing some sort of onerous task; anyway, I have to clean the chicken coop and the dog run today. Then the house:) It's not going to clean itself so....

Me too Judy, I may have to start doing drive-by egg-leavings like I do with zucchini in the summer:) Actually I have quite a few people that have said they will buy eggs from me so that should start paying for the chicken feed soon

Yup - every garden book I have ever read about manure says no way on the dog and cat poo. I do put my chicken poo in the garden though, and we are going to put the deep litter stuff down - mix of leaves and wood shavings - so next fall/winter I should have ready-mix compost:) The chickens were sure happy to have a clean run - they have been gracing us with eggs again, time to drag out the egg recipes before we are overrun.

I just read something last week that said Dog & Cat crap has something in it that's DANGEROUS to humans! Something about the way they digest food I think. I knew I didn't like it for some reason.

Just hop to it! Do you use your chicken liter on the gardens, Amy Grace? I just shoveled cow poop this morning and I throw it all on the gardens. I love poop! I use goat and chicken, also. But no dog or cat. I don't know why but I have always heard not to put dog or cat poop on a garden. And my cats use my garden for a liter box anyway.

I hope ya'll have a great productive day and gets lots done. And have fun!

I know what you mean! Sometimes there are those chores ~ You wish a little nose wiggle would end slove the job! ;) Then I'd guess you'd miss the feeling of a job well done! I have the cat litter boxes to do and the woodchopping laundry! So here we go!
