Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 07:11:33 AM Girls, I thought I would share this idea I had the other day and it's working well. I am a total neat freak, especially my kitchen floor. Invariably, a husbands and/or dogs make tracks, etc. So, I use the Swiffer mop with the wet pads alot. I knew there had to be a better way than buy those pads and use them once then have to throw them away. Then the other day I was at Home Depot and bought some of those microfiber cleaning cloths. I put some in the Swiffer pad container, added some all-purpose cleaner and water until the cloths were wet, but not drenched. If I need to "Swiffer" I just grab a cloth, attach it to the mop and clean away. When I'm done, I just throw the cloth in the wash to re-use later. I think it works better and stays wetter than the regular Swiffer pads, which is nice.![](icons/icon_smile.gif)

Posted - Feb 18 2010 : 04:34:00 AM At one point when i had linoleum floors in kitchen, I cut a hole in top of cleaner fluid caniser with hubbys drill bit that does biggish holes - then i would put my own cleaners inside. As far as clothes go, i used the microfiber too - i would just throw one on the floor and keep even pressure when mopping, then it didn't tangle. |

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 07:31:01 AM Karen has crocheted swiffer pads that you can use, throw in the wash and reuse in her etsy shop: www.kpaints.etsy.com. I have one and they fit nice and tight, are made from cotton yarn and offer some texture for scrubbing out those "hard to get out" spots.
