Posted - Mar 01 2006 : 1:47:07 PM My sons favorite shoes "Thomas the Tank engine" have lights on the soles. They are need a good cleaning but with the lights on them I am afraid cleaning might mess up the lights . Anyone ever try washing/cleaning these type shoes?

Posted - Mar 01 2006 : 3:08:36 PM I have washed light up sneakers in the washer before too..but didn't put them in the dryer..just in front of the heater vent to dry...they still lit up fine. I can never seem to get them clean enough by hand when the boys get them good and dirty!

Posted - Mar 01 2006 : 2:34:58 PM I would assume since kids run through puddles and mud all the time that they have to be water tight around the battery and such. I don't think anyone would buy them if their kid got zapped everytime the sneakers got wet. I had never thought about it before- but I would probably have been hesitant to wash them too! |

Posted - Mar 01 2006 : 1:53:45 PM I have a pair of those types of tennies for my little guy - he LOVES them, too. I've thrown them in the washer AND dryer with no ill effects - one of the lights is "out," but I think that's due to too much running!
XOXO, Libbie
