While we were at a cottage in Ohio last week; everyone was making fun of me because I was sooooo enjoying washing dishes by hand when I don't like to do it at home. Then I realized that there was a window I could gaze out and watch the world go by.
By the end of the week everybody was arguing about whose turn it was to do the dishes. Not to skate out of it, but to have the privlege of doidng the dishes. Pretty funny!!!

My kitchen window looks out over our backyard and bird feeders so I understand completely. My kitchen needs a reno and I've had a new dishwasher sitting in a box in my garage for 2 yrs now...sigh. Most days I don't mind though. I watch the birds, bunnies, squirrels, and chipmunks and just let my brain take a vacation from the mundane worries of life.

I know, I know, I know. While working in a city away from home, I rented a small apartment. It had a window in the bedroom and 2 in the living room, none in the kitchen. I didn't cook or anything. Later I moved to a condo that had a large kitchen window, I suddenly started cooking and inviting folks for coffee or dinner. Now (retired), I have a huge bank of windows in the kitchen. My sink is in an island in the center of the room. I spend hours there, cooking, canning, chopping veggies and doing dishes by hand,(I have a dishwasher). I love my kitchen windows.

Funny. There is Zen in everything we do. Cute post.
