I always find myself being more productive when I list out every thing that I have done each day. It is inspirational to see that things are getting done even if things don't look all THAT much better. I find myself wanting to get more done because I can see that I have been active whereas on other days I lose motivation because I don't feel like anything is changing.

SOOOO-

Today I have:

Washed 2 loads of dishes
Washed the kitchen cupboards
scrubbed down the stove
seasoned our cast iron pans
cleaned the sinks
Round Penned Tala
Groomed and clipped Tala
OKay I could go on forever about what I did with Tala so I will just say I spen almost 4 hours with her LOL

Off to do more!

Canned a batch of the zuchini relish,
spent some time organizing my sewing/craft space after rearranging the entire living room to make room for more seating,
had my niece's birthday at lunch,
brought in a field of second cutting hay,
sitting down in some nice comfy jammies to top the day off with you ladies!

Ground about 75# of flour from Hard Red Wheat--well it really took most of 2 days--and Tim helped.
Now I'm baking sourdough bread.
Getting ready to freeze more corn. I think I'll make some parched corn while I'm at it.

It's not about being perfect, but enjoying what you do. Set aside time to be creative.

DH and I finished putting the roofing material on the shed we are repairing! i'm so glad that part of the project is over... i got sweaty palms just watching him on the roof nailing it on. it took us 3 days and alot of hard work, so i want to go celebrate by taking a nice, relaxing bubble bath.

then washed a HUGE load of dishes.

de-frosted my big freezer.

now, maybe i'll go excercise before i relax and have dinner...

Hmm. Sounds like a 2 legged pest for sure. The nerve.

Sounds like your alligators are threats similar to our coyotes/pumas here. Of course, you probably have those too. Yikes. It was good to see the deer back in our neighborhood last night. When they skeedaddle, it's time to look to the bluffs for that buff kitty. She is often around our place in the fall. Even raised her brood nearby last winter. I haven't seen her, but lots of neighbors have. I guess before we bought the place, she must have enjoyed the seclusion it offers all to herself. I'll spare the details, but I've cleaned up lots of evidence of some big critter hunting/living on our ground. So far, no casualties. I think wild game is plentiful enough that barn cats seem silly to hunt, and horses a bit dangerous to tangle with. Though I admit, I'm glad Q is getting bigger/stronger. I worried quite a bit when he was a weanling.

We make a difference.

Michelle:
I don't have to tease the alligators. When they hear me working in the yard, or if they hear the mower- they all come around.
I refuse to admit if I have or not cooked some of those creatures. I refuse to say!
I have five outside cats, and I have to put my Luck Dog out to do his thing. If an alligator threatens me or my sweet animals, oh well... Usually they leave me alone. This morning, I had to chase one of my outside away from the lake. The wildlife fellow mentioned to me that cats and dogs are their favorite meal. Now, he tells me this as he is drinking a beer, rather finishing off a beer. He then asks if I can reach in the back of his truck in the ice chest to fetch him another cold beer. I told him he had two minutes to start his truck and get the >>>>>>> out of my yard. Until the wildlife group can help with these alligators, I will do what I have to do. I don't hurt them or kill them unless they are a threat. I've already lost one of the kittens to an alligator. Never again on my watch.

Okay so far:

Stripped our bed
Remade the bed complete with pillowshams and decorative pillows
Washed 2 loads of laundry
dried one (the other is in the drier)
Started a third load of laundry
washed the breakfast dishes
wiped down some kitchen counter tops
vacuumed our bedroom
picked up garbage around the house.

Now I need to finish up the kitchen and re-pick up the living room and finish Nora's room. Oh and clean the bathroom. I have 2 1/2 hours before my sister who is allergic to EVERYTHING gets here. I am just hoping that she doesn't walk in and start having allergy issues.

Michelle- that's what I would do! No way would a gator last long around my house. I would freak out worrying about Nora and Sky-dog!

I haven't done much of anything yet today. But that is about to change after I get my morning dose of MJF! :D I have a ton of laundry to do, kitchen to clean, floors to mop, and our room to vacuum and shampoo. And the dog should get a bath too- but that's Doug's job. He's gonna get kicked out of bed here in about 45 minutes...he just doesn't know it yet! LOL

Alee! Slow down girl! :)
Reading and thinking about this thread yesterday made me think of all the little things I do each day that I forget to credit myself for. How interesting.

Today:
School shopping/girl's day in town. Whew! My brain is jello. (not a big shopper)
Picked chokecherries.
Horse chores and some playing.

Now, Marly, you going to tease that 'gator into ending up on the table? :)

We make a difference.
Bear5 Posted - Aug 22 2009 : 7:40:18 PM
Yes, Alee alligators are protected over here. However, if one is after me, I will shoot it. I've done that before. If they are a threat the Wildlife says I can shoot them. Alligator meat is super good.

Things I did today, as in cleaning the house. Zero!!!!!!!
Things I did outside: Mowed the yard, weeded the flower beds, picked okra and tomatoes, washed two litter boxes, chatted with my outside cats, cleaned the inside of my car, and tried to pull tall weeds on the edge of the lake. There were two alligators eyeing me, so I had to give up on that.

Cleaning Spree today!!

Picked up living room
Shampooed two spots I found on the carpet- I think Nora forgot to go to the bathroom to go potty :(
Took the Head off my vacuum, cleaned beater bar and metal housing.
Adjusted beater bar height on vacuum
Stripped Nora's bed
Sorted through some toys that will be taken to the thrift store on Monday
Pulled some weeds in the back yard
picked up toys and garbage in Nora's room (How she gets half that stuff in there, I will never know)
vacuumed 3/4 of Nora's room (the rest needs to get moved and is going to happen tomorrow
Shampooed the vacuumed portion of Nora's room.
Decided I need to get some storage tubs for Nora's room! LOL
Vacuumed my couch since Nora decided to decorate it with parmesean cheese while I was cleaning in the other room *sigh* It never ends... I swear.

I think that will be all for tonight. Maybe some loads of laundry but I think I will finish up stuff tomorrow. My sister who is allergic to everything is coming tomorrow though and it would be nice to do a secondary cleaning right before she comes so I might wait until Nora is asleep and keep working.

I lost my motivation somehow! I need to go work on her room so it's clean for tonight. *sigh* LOL

:) Holy moly! I'll play. :) Today I...
Canned chili
2 loads of laundry
swept
cleaned kitchen post-chili...eek
dug potatoes/harvested what was ready in the garden
worked with Q (farrier out this morning didn't like his behavior, think I may find a new farrier with a diff. philosophy/approach) He picks up his feet just fine for me. Hmm?
shooed kittens out of the field as it was being harvested ("But Mom! The grasshoppers...")
introduced horses to the combine/monitored for "freak out" (Q was excited/curious at first but chilled out)
played board games with daughter
trying not to worry about DH who is out fighting a fire and won't be home tonight...sigh...

This is a big slow-down for me, and I have got to admit, I love it (except for the fire)! One more week before heading back to the class room.

We make a difference.
Alee Posted - Aug 21 2009 : 7:43:08 PM

got up at 4am and was in the office by 5 to work on testing a software patch that simply HAS to go out on Monday. One of our major customers had problems and the developers wrote a bug fix - which I was able to set up in my lab late Friday.... so I spent all day saturday and all day today testing. Finally got home just before 5pm. Too tired to even *think* about attacking the dust bunnies or laundry...

Today I started off with God's word from our pastor on the radio--have a sick pup at home we are keeping an eye on....then made a MJ Bakeover from scratch with lots of veges and left overs...mmmm...then took an hour walk up the mountain with hubby when the pup fell asleep and thanked the Lord for such a beautiful day...back for laundry, fed the birds, cuddled with the pups, checked messages and bought an apron from a farmgirl neighbor Sharon down the road through her new Etsy she posted here at the Connection...planning on a quiet evening...blessings to all you farmgirls....hugs too...

My carpets look so much better! Oh my word they look better! I am so happy! I am glad my shampooer fixed it's left. There must have been some dried gunk or something in there. I don't know but it's gone now and I am sooo happy!

So far I started one load in the washer. I am not washing my small rugs and soon I will be washing the covers to my couch cushions. :D

Today I helped two friends set up their booths at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. While doing that I visited with friends and we had a fabulous picnic lunch. I also went to my Mom to steal bread recipes and visit with her.
So, I didn't do much today, but had a great day!
