Vacuum?

Do dishes?

Do Laundry?

And how many loads of laundry a week do you do?

I have to be honest- when my house is cluttered- I only run the vacuum about once a week, but when my house is picked up, I might run it several times a day.

We do at least one load of dishes a day around here, but probably should do two. I'm working on that.

We do laundry just about every day around here. I am trying to get caught up and get everything folded up and put away so we don't have the "it hit the floor and got walked on so is now dirty" cycle repeating through- Ugh! There is nothing I hate worse than rewashing clothes- plus it makes me feel guilty because it is such a waste of resources. If I can just get caught up, we might get to the point where I could do laundry only a couple times a week. That would be so nice! It would be even nicer if I only had to do laundry once a week, but again- we are working towards it.

And I honestly haven't counted how many loads I do each week! Too many in my mind!

You're all going to hate me. My DH does most of the house cleaning here. After 20 yrs of military service he is the everything has it's place and it better be there kinda guy. I have fibromyalgia and he babies me a bit too much truthfully. Now and then when I have a good day and little or no pain I'll tear into the house and try to do all the "chores" so that he can enjoy his days off from his job and not be cleaning. But he's definitely not one to sit around so even if I do all the housework he still finds stuff to keep himself busy. The man never rests! Most of the clutter in the house I am responsible for (my craft table) but he never complains and considers that "my space". Just call me spoiled rotten and lovin' it in Wisconsin :)

Oh Gee:
I am embarrassed to admit, but I refuse to vaccum. I don't even want to know how to spell it properly. I think subconsciously I misspell it on purpose. I do put the dishes in the dishwasher at least once a day. I do laundry once every other day. I will vaccum if my friends don't do it for me.

Vacuum 2x week usually
Dishes 1-2x day
Laundry 6x week - That is one of the FLYlady habits that I have firmly in my routine
Loads of laundry, Geez, Louise…maybe 8 or 9?

Well what a question:0
I clean the house twice a week
do dishes daily
laundry once or twice a week -- hang on line from April to November if I can
yard work is daily including garden, flowers, picking up "yard mines"
I try to sew or do some school work daily as well

Misty- our vacuum is way to heavy for Nora to push- it's a 20+ year old Kirby with no power drive. It's a work out for me! LOL But she loves to help sweep and mop! I should start giving her a chore everyday- that is a good idea!

Hey Alee...I have a 2 1/2 year old and he loves to "vacuum"! Does Nora ever like to do that? I let Will just because I figure whatever he does is less for me!! Plus he feels like he is helping! He also dusts the piano...that is his chore every day!

I should vacuum everyday too Elizabeth- but too often the floor is a bit cluttered. I am going to try to do better tomorrow than I did today. Today nothing in the house got done. I did work in the garden though!

I should vacuum every day but it tends to be about every other day, sometimes every three days.
We do a load of dishes in the dishwasher but I'm bad about getting to the pans...I tend to let them sit a day or so until I either need them again or they are crunchy. I need to work on that but by the time I am done cooking, feeding the kids, and trying to eat myself I am wore out and need to think about bath time or something else instead of dishes.
I do several loads of wash a week. About 1 to 2 loads of towels/whites, 2 to 3 loads of the kids and my clothing, and one of hubby's work clothing. It really is a never ending battle with three little ones ages 5 and under.

Dishes every day. Vacuum when it needs it. I have wood floors with rugs all over. I wash my clothes once a week. Hubbys when he comes home. So about 3-5 loads a week. Sheets about once a week. I also vacuum my matress. Anyone else do that? I can't stand the thought of bed bugs and mites in there. I have to sweep the kitchen floor all the time. We have blacktop on the parking area and it's old so there is alot of little black gravely stuff that no matter how much we wipe our shoes off it still comes in with us. And when I'm inside I'm barefooted.

Amie, we (I) had that problem too. It only affected me because I'm the one running the washer and then vacumming up the water afterwords. Anyway, since we live in the way country and we had the backhoe for awhile, and it really doesn't matter all that much, hubby just dug up the septic. The outflow outlet pipe anyway. We figured that the leach field was clogged, and our plumbing isn't the greatest... the septic was filling up to fast with the water and it was back flowing into the basement. Just gray water, nothing yucky. We have gumbo soil and it doesn't drain very well.

anyway, that's my story ;)

Changing the sheets I do once and sometimes twice a week. I can't stand to feel like my sheets are dirty so if Hubby has been working all day and is too tired to get a shower (insert gag here) and gets in bed, I have to change the sheets the next day. :P

You ladies make me feel so good. I don't have a problem keeping up with laundry (but I don't have any kids) but cleaning!!! UGH! and changing the sheets!! I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel guilty sometimes but I think there are more important things to do than clean (like read a good book)

Hmmm- We wash the sheets about once a week and I try to wash our comforter every two weeks but sometimes it is once a month. It has held up great- It's a MaryJane's Farm Grange comforter. I am sure it has lots of years of service left in it, but anytime I treasure something like I do that comforter I want to make sure I don't over wash it- I don't want to clean it to death!

Belle--We eat dinners with my Mom every night so we have very little when it comes to having things to wash. On Mom's days off we spend lunches there and sometimes breakfast depending on what we are doing and how soon we have to leave and such.:D
We live across the driveway from my Mom. :)

Dusting and vacuuming only get done on rare occasions at my house as well. I would like to do it more often, at least once a week, but getting a clear shot at the surfaces is a major project (my husband leaves an incredible amount of stuff around - I can't put it away because I don't know what it is or where it belongs).

Dishes are usually done every day. If I miss a day, things start to get ugly! We've only got limited counter space in the kitchen, so a pile of dishes takes the house from ok to disaster in about 18 hours.

Laundry gets done on the weekend. Used to be 3 loads, but there's something up with our plumbing so now I have to do 6 small loads instead. If I do a large load, water overflows across the basement floor.
ranchmama Posted - May 15 2009 : 07:35:10 AM
I have hard floors so I only vacumm the area rugs when they get bad. Or when I sweep and don't feel like bending over to use the dust pan. The mud room rug gets vacummed more often. And I only mop when it gets real bad, or I have the time..

Dishes I do about once a day in the dishwasher, sometimes twice.. I try to get the pots and pans done up after the noon meal, but usually not supper, I'm to tired by then!

Laundry is done as needed. Some times it's 2 a day some times 4. I'm sure I do over 10 loads a week, I've never counted. I know I did 3 loads of just jeans one day! 3 kids add it up!

I'm not going to admit how often I change the sheets either Belle! lol
And the dusting only gets done when it's gets real deep. The other day, Camron was wiping off the bottom of the coffee table with his hands to clear the dust to set up his army men! I had him go get a towel and finish it off. Is that bad or what?!

We do the dishes once a day. More if I am doing a lot of baking or cooking. Ole Ron usually does them every morning. If he don't feel good, then I do. Would love to be in the habit of getting them done right after supper but don't.

We have hardwood floors in the LR so don't vacumm, use the swiffer when I see dust under the piano. That is my gage. We have carpet in the bedrooms and office/craft room. I vaccumm once a month probably. I use the swiffer wet on the kitchen floor when ever it needs it and when we are expecting company. Maybe a couple of times a week.

I do laundry when ever we have a load. Probably 5 loads a week.

Glad you didn't ask how often we change the sheets on the beds. Maybe it's because you really don't want to know.

Jessie, I would like to know how you can only do dishes twice a week.
Sitnalta Posted - May 15 2009 : 06:35:03 AM
okay, now if I admit this here, you have to promise not to be totally grossed out. ;)
I vaccumm every other day

I do dishes around twice a week

Laundry I do on Thursdays and Sundays and they total 10 loads together. :)

Vacuum (I have a 5 year old son) and dishes are done daily. Laundry is done twice a week or more if needed (again, I have a 5 year old son). I clean the upstairs on Wednesdays and the lower levels on Thursdays!

Oh boy....we vacuum the living room every day. We do laundry almost every day....when it is a laundry day it's usually 3-4 loads. We do dishes 2 times a day. I sweep the kitchen usually 2 times a day and mop 2 times a week.....I LOVE my swiffer mop and I use that at the end of each day.
Now the bedrooms......yikes. The kids usually aren't to bad but for some reason mine is the catch all.
I know what you mean about trying to catch up. Our home is fairly large (OLD farmhouse) and these past few months I have felt so crummy with this pregnancy I actually hired a girl to come help me with the bathrooms and kitchen. I felt really guilty about it and now that I am actually getting caught up on the house and laundry I am glad I did it!! Now we have the garden and goat babies coming soon so I have appreciated the help!!!
