I used 1/2 cup vinegar in my rinse cycle and the clothes came out soft and smelling good but full of static. I am trying not use fabric softener and wanted to know if there was a "green" source. Any suggestions? Thanks Bunches!

Hugs,

Our clothes are getting a big electric around here too. I'll try adding more vinegar in my washer. I don't like using those dryer sheets.

Thanks for all the advice!

Over drying clothes will definitely give you static cling- sometimes even if you use dryer sheets!

I don't have the cling since I started using vinegar. I fill the dispenser thingy in the top of my washer , probably a cup per load. I did hear that tennis balls work.

Maybe I need to use more. I use 1/2 cup. Is that enough? Maybe I am drying them to long...Thanks Bunches!

The vinegar in the rinse water works for me. I don't ever have static that I have noticed.

So far I haven't had any cling using the vinegar. I'll let you know if I do after I keep using this for a week or so. I do laundry almost everyday.

I think a balled up piece of tin foil is supposed to help.
