I am looking for a wood dusting recipe. I have the olive oil, lemeon juice one but it leave more of a residue than I would like. I have heard of one that has bees wax in place of the olive oil or maybe its bees wax and a bit of olive oil, not sure.

I have never had mine go bad . . . maybe I used it too quickly? But I would think the fridge would be a good option. Lemon juice rarely goes bad, due to the citric acid, so my guess is it was the oil that went bad . . . I learned the hard way that certain oils can go bad . . . I baked a homemade cake and the oil was awful and so the whole cake tasted terrible. Maybe just mix small amounts at a time. The fact that it is a 3:1 ratio makes it easy to do smaller amounts such as 1/8 cup lemon juice with 3/8 cup olive oil, etc. Best of luck!

Should I put the left over in the fridge I have tried this recipe in the past, got it off the web somewhere , but it seemed like the lemon juice went sour , the smell was awful. I would like to try it again. Thanks

I use it in a spray bottle and then just wipe it with a dust cloth. It has worked great for me! Best of luck!

Brenda - do you spray it on the dust cloth or directly on the wood?
- and thank you for posting this, I have been using Endust today trying not to think about what I am doing to the environment/my lungs etc. etc. of course, being cheap I will have to use up the Endust rather than throw it away:D

This is wonderful . . . and cheap . . . and safe! Mix 1 cup olive oil with 1/3 cup lemon juice. Put in a spray bottle and use with a soft flannel cloth (old diapers are great!) Works great!

Diana,
Do you have a specific ratio to use?
