OK farmgirls, after reading the other post (my livingroom looks like I take in laundry), I realized I had to share a song I wrote about the "joys" of laundry. It goes to the tune of "Big Rock Candy Mountain". If you don't know that oldie, find it on YouTube...NOT the one with the unicorn!

Great Big Laundry Mountain

Up on great big laundry mountain, all the dirty clothes pile high
The socks and jeans and t-shirts will soon be laundered bright
The stains will all get scrubbed out, be they grass or mud or wine
They'll be lookin' all new and you will too
Just see what Mama's done for you
Up on great big laundry mountain

Up on great big laundry mountain, the work is never done
Kids keep gettin' dirty, so do dads and moms
The dirty clothes just pile up, so do sheets and towels
I'm working all day just scrubbin' away
Hanging out clean clothes, in the breeze they sway
Up on great big laundry mountain

Up on great big laundry mountain, I've heard that it's been said
The laundry never gets all done so you come back from the dead
Jesus may be waiting, but your family's waiting too
For clothes that shine, mama you're divine
Never drying in a dryer, always hang them on the line
Up on great big laubdry mountain

(Thanks for listening!)

You all are too kind. I'll think about that jeans to apron one!

That sounds great... now would you consider writing me a song about a pair of jean who became a ladies apron... (I have more details on another post).

Warmly,
Debi

I love it! I think I need to print that out and frame it! Or perhaps stitch it into a sampler!

I love it! At our house we call it Mt. Washmore. Just got back from 2 weeks on an island - with 5 big duffle bags full of damp, dirty, smelly laundry!
