I often post a list of things I need to do, but today I decided to switch that around and list things done. Maybe when I see that I actually am getting thing accomplished, I will feel a greater sense of work accomplished.

So Today I have:

Take Doug to the Eye Doctor (All of 5 minutes- our old doctor hadn't faxed in the prescription yet)
Come back home to feed Nora Breakfast.
Taken Doug to Work
Gone shopping at the Dollar Store
Washed a load of dishes
Set a load of Clothes to Wash.
Hung a load of clothes on the line
Pulled clothes out of the dryer to fold
Started a new load
Put away clean dry dishes
Washed second load of dishes
"fed" compost heap old salad and dried up pulled weeds.
Washed third load of laundry
Hung Second and Third Loads up to dry
Started Fifth load of laundry to wash
Browsed through the Amazing newest issue of MJF!

Okay- I guess I am still going to do it to myself...

I still need to finish about 2 more loads of dishes
Make the bed
Wash about 5 loads of laundry
weed the garden
water the garden
pick up around the house.
Got mail and planted a bunch of herbs I got as a swap!!

Wish me luck!

So far this morning I have found several holes in my kitchen where mice might be coming in. I don't have any steel wool on hand, and I try to not use commercial cleaners (like Comet) anymore, but I did have some Comet with Bleach on hand, so I poured some into the holes in my kitchen and I dusted the very bottom of the cupboards (not where my dishes go but between floor and bottom drawer) with the comet as well. I am hoping that this makes the are really unattractive to the mice and if nothing else I will see their little mouse tracks in the comet if they do come so I will know which hole is used or used most.

Then I scrubbed the floors and ended up washing them twice to get rid of any trace of Comet dust.

I replaced some runner rugs and an area rug in my kitchen after the floors were clean and then scrubbed the base boards and the two doors in my kitchen.

I washed the back splash near the garbage can and scrubbed the two doors that close off under neath the sink.

Now the only thing that needs to happen in my kitchen is vacuuming and shampooing the big area rug, but I have to wait a little while longer for Doug to wake up. So next on my list is the Dining room!

Organized a hidden fabric stash that I had forgotten about but found when I was organizing the dinning room.

Swept most of the floor (have to clean up Nora toys to get to the other half.

Took Doug to work and went to bank

Went to Organic Food store.

I washed the shower and sink in the bathroom
Washed the walls a bit where mildew was starting to form
folded 5 loads of laundry that had been hanging out on the couch for the past week
cleaned off the buffet counter top and organized it a bit
started 3 loads of laundry
started, dried and folded 2 more loads of laundry
Striped and re-made Nora's bed with clean linens and blanket.
Made a new dinner from a recipe
Vacuumed bedroom
Ate dinner with Doug
Washed dishes (Doug dried and put away)
Wiped down counters

I am wiped out!

Today has been a busy day.
First I cleaned out the cupboards in the kitchen
Repapered the cupboards
Reorganized the cupboards this included all my pots and pans and bowls, small appliances, etc.
Then I washed a load of dishes in the dishwasher
Put and load of laundry in the washer, I plan to do three loads of laundry
Emptied the pantry and reorganized it
Swept the livingroom floor, bedroom floor, bathroom and kitchen floors-they are all wood floors- old wood floors we hope to refinish next Spring
Fed the chickens
Gave our horses some apples from the apple tree
Dead headed my Begonia, with help from my kitten-he kept grabbing my hand as I pulled old flowers off the plant
Reorganized the utensil, silverware drawers
Lately I'm in a reorganization mood I guess
Folded clothes, put them away
Put the clean dishes away
Made Tuna Casserole for dinner, yum!
Put another load of laundry in washer
Put dishes in dishwasher
Oh and started knitting a winter cap
I think that's it...
No. my hubby and I collected eggs from our coop and feed the horses
And I just feed the cats and dog.
Now, I'm done, in more ways than one.

I kinda like doing this listing, I can see what I have accomplished. Fun!

Well it's too early to say what I've done today although, I have the tomatoes simmering on the stove for sauce I want to can today.

Yesterday:
Uncovered the garden. That's a daily thing, now.
Picked some peppers and paste tomatoes and the last cantaloupe out of the garden
Made a scarecrow to sit up in the wagon with all my pumpkins from the garden
Got up on the roof to do some minor repair and then wasted nearly an hour trying to muck up the courage to get back on the ladder to get down!
Hired a youngster to get up on the other part of the roof to do the rest
Helped dh with his phys therapy on his shoulder
Dishes
Swept, mopped the floors
Picked another bucket of plums
Covered the garden back up at the end of the day
Skinned and cut up 30lbs tomatoes and got them in the pot with other ingredients to start cooking in the morning
Washed up all the stuff I used to get the tomatoes processed

Doesn't seem like I accomplished much. I really wanted to get the tomatoes further along and at least get the plums and laundry going. Oh, well there is today!

Believe it or not- dust is my favorite! Vacuuming, dusting with a cloth or polish- it doesn't matter! You see such amazing results so quickly! It keeps the motivation up!

Wow Alee! You are superwoman! I'm tired just reading all the good stuff you got done today. I hope you have a good visit with your friend tonight.

-Got up about 8:30
-Had my tea and cookie, then onto the computer for awhile, then had egg and toast for brekkie.
-Found out I start my new online job on Monday! Woot!
-Set up my little roadside stand outside - I've almost sold out of everything!
-Sorted the last of the garage sale stuff in the garage, got it sorted for a nice lady who came and took it off for her church bazaar. The garage is almost empty...
-Listed a WI plate on ebay, and some freebies here in Barter.
-Picked concord grapes, washed jars and made 8 jars of grape jelly, yummers.
-Sorted pears, and made a couple bags of freezer pear pie filling with the ripest ones.
-Fed the chickadees (chickens)
-Popped a homemade pizza in to the oven for supper
-Now I'm just about to put a whole buncha books on my bookmooch list, watching PBS waiting for the US debate to start..

Yipes! Today is the day and I still have most of the house to do! Luckily a good half of it is kitchen/dining room so that won't take too long. And I suppose the laundry room doesn't have to be perfect...

Nora woke me up at about 5am this morning. So, in the 2 hours I have been up I have:

(First 2 Hours) Made us both Breakfast
Folded a load of laundry
Hung up about 2 loads of laundry
Started a load of laundry in both washer and dryer.
Brushed the dog
Picked up Nora toys
Picked up random bits of garbage (Nora shredding paper again!)
Read the forum twice

(third hour) Folded laundry (Fresh from the dryer!! A novelty!!)
Put laundry away
Striped cushion covers from couch and started 2 of the 4 to wash.
Vacuumed the couches- arm rests, back, sides, under cushion area. Ick! Lots of Nora cracker crumbs! And I was wondering where those scissors went to!

(Fourth Hour)
Dried the first two couch cushion covers and wrestled them back onto the cushions.
Washed the second set of cushion covers. They are drying right now.
Had to re-sew a few seams on the cushion cover and trim some threads on the inside of each. Now I need to re vacuum my sewing room! Sheesh! It never ends!
Folded another load of laundry. Than never ends either!!

(fifth hour)
Had to wake up Doug and ended up taking about a 15 minute lay down. I didn't fall asleep (or I would be there still!) but it did help recharge my batteries a bit.
Wrestled on second set of couch cushion covers
Vacuumed carpet
Spot treated carpet in preparation for shampooing carpets.
Also had a little juice break and now I am feeling more energetic too! I must have needed some fuel!

(The 6th, 7th and 8th hours)
Lost some time to helping Doug look for car keys and comforting Nora. Poor kid. Looks like her canine teeth are cutting through.
Shampooed carpet in living room
Washed another load of laundry
Dried another load of laundry
Got yet ANOTHER load of laundry washing!
picked up bedroom
Vacuumed bedroom and shampooed carpet
Took Nora and Sky outside for about 15 minutes. It's bright and sunny today!
Ate a little lunch.

(The Rest of the day)
Cleaned Nora's Room
Set another load of laundry to washing.
Vacuumed Nora's Carpet
Shampooed Nora's Carpet.

Cleaned and organized the buffet/pass through from kitchen.
Scrubbed floor (about 15 by 20 feet) on hands and knees (ewww...must do more often!)
Wiped down table
vacuumed area rug in dining room
Arranged a tea set on tray on table
Kind of organized my pantry shelf

Wiped down kitchen counters
Put away items
Wiped down microwave

scrubbed shower and mini tub
scrubbed toilet and sink.
Washed kitchen floor on hands and knees
washed bathroom floor on hands and knees
More loads of laundry. I have lost count
Wiped down laundry machines
Vacuumed laundry area rug
swept back step
swept back side walk (covered in leaves)
vacuumed kitchen area rug.

So now I have a few dishes and some laundry to fold and put away, most of the laundry is bedding that is going right back on the bed so it's easy peasy!!!

PHEW!!! Even though I have the little things left to fiddle with until my friend comes, I consider the house done! I even showered, have makeup on, a dress and my fanciest apron on! Wooohooo! Farmgirl plowin through!!!

It's amazing to see how much I have actually accomplished this morning. Writing everything down like this really helps me to see that when I just focus...I can get a lot done! A good reminder for myself on those days when I feel lazy!

Okay! Here is the story- I have a friend coming to stay the night on Friday who is pregnant! I don't want her to be sickened by any possible odor in my house so I am going to do a cleaning blitz. Today I have:

Studied for Accounting Test (all morning)
Went to my class and took test and notes in after test session of class
Checked in on the forum.

(1st Hour of cleaning) I got all the random debris off my sewing room floor. Nora likes to shred paper, there were ribbon bits, bits of thread etc etc. Then I pulled out the dog's blanket and a few other washable items that needed cleaning. Also the two chairs. I then vacuumed the floor and shampooed the carpet. I also started 2 loads of laundry and have the first of the 2 in dryer.

(2nd Hour of Cleaning) Got several loads of laundry folded, another load in washer and dryer both. I got Nora her dinner and also a bath. I checked in with my college online homework and had to send a a few emails.

(3rd Hour) This pretty much got taken up by caring for Nora! I had to re-shampoo a bit of carpet in my sewing room because Nora had a little accident!

(fourth hour) Lots of taking care of Nora, getting ready for bed and such. Folded a load of laundry and put all the loads away. Picked up the bedroom and got another load of laundry started. Made a Turkey Meatloaf for dinner (mmmm! Smells yummy right now!) Picked up Doug from work and then got Nora tucked into bed and asleep.

(fifth and sixth hours) Doug and I ate dinner and we were both so tired from waking up early yesterday that we spent about 20 minutes half dozing on the couch watching one of our favorite cooking shows. Then we decided to get up, get moving and get the dishes done! We had a plumbing emergency this week and were out of water for almost 48 hours. So the dishes piled up a bit. Now they are all clean, the drainage board is clean and the sink is clean!! WOOO HOOO!

Now I am going to listen to my audio book, fold a load or two of laundry and go to bed! Good Night ladies!

Next comes...more laundry, dishes and more carpet cleaning!!

I'm off to a good start!!

Now it is time to pull out the SuperWonderCleaningWoman cape and get the house sparkling! Can I do it? I guess we will see! I will be posting every hour or so an update on my house progress (A good excuse to take a bit of a break!)

Fall cleaning...Here I come!!!

Man, that makes the stove look horrible.
Scrub stove.
Not good enough.
Stove needs to be moved also.
Glad, I did that...found two dogs I never knew I had!

Had to stop.
Fed baby squirrels.
Made dinner for the humans.
Floor still yucky. Will have to wait til the Advil kicks in 3 days from now.

Today is a lazyish day so far. My one and only goal today is to try to complete ALL of my teenager's laundry. No small feat to be sure! I gathered up all my laundry baskets and filled them to the brim with clothes off her floor, in her closet floor, next to her bed, IN her bed, her bedding, off her bathroom floor etc. My gosh, she's a SLOB! But she's a hard working, straight A student/athlete kind of slob. How is a mother supposed to stay mad at someone whose forte' isn't laundry? The girl is organized with school work and civil clubs. She's responsible as far as homework and chores go, EXCEPT doing her laundry. So a couple times a year I break down, roll up my sleeves and tackle her mountain of laundry. Thank goodness for the clothesline because I wouldn't hardly be able to make a dent in it if I had to wait for the dryer to shut off.
So here I sit, ever waiting for the washer to stop so I can transfer another load in and take the wet things outside to dry. But, it makes me feel good to be able to do this for her occasionally, she really does appreciate it. And I get an excuse to sit here and play on the computer while I'm waiting on the washer. lol

Today is a new day, so far I have got the kids out the door with brown bag lunches in their backpacks, and warm french toast in their bellies.
