I'm in the process of putting all of my soon-to-come son's stuff away. I'm a little overwhelmed because I have a lot of stuff and don't know where the best, practical places to keep things would be. Like, should I put all of the onesies in the changing table dresser? Where should I keep all the small stuff... socks, hats, mittens, etc... I want the room to have order and things to be in convenient places. Any tips or advice?

Cecily, Congratulations!!!! One of the best things I have found is to get organizers according to the space you have. Measure the space you have and find things to fit that space. One good way to store onesies is to fold them in on each side and roll them up and stand them on their sides. Small stuff works best in a basket or something like that. I have a pattern for an organizer which can tie to a crib or changing table. It has 4pockets on the top and 3 on the bottom. If you would like one let me know and I would be very happy to make one for you!! Once again CONGRATULATIONS

I used to sort the onesies by things like all 0-3 months in one stack..all 3-6 months another...and so on.
then little socks in a pile.. little caps in a pile..and so on.If the items were one year and up..they went in the closet by size on little hangers.
diapers and wipes and baby powders and ointment on the shelf directly under the changing area for easy access.

Since Greta doesn't have a room of her own, all of her things are in my room. Her changing table and dresser are nestled in a corner and her crib is sidecared up to our bed. I keep all her shoes/socks/hats in a hanging shoe bag one the back of the door which is right next to her changing table. Everything is handy and it takes up next to no space. Her changing table is FULL of cloth diapers so all her everyday clothes go in the dresser which is also next to the changing table. Special outfits and such are hanging in a closet.

Congratulations! I love your new little ones name.

I would put all your hats and socks etc in a drawer but onesies and changing stuff get used a LOT so those should go in the changing table. :) I envy you. When I had my son we didnt even have a crib or even a separate room for him. That sounds so sad when I say that but we didnt. :) Congratulations on your baby. What are you going to name him?

I bought a shoe organize- the one's with the shelves and put those small items like socks, hats, gloves, shoes, even blankets in there. Easy to reach and takes up less drawer space.

I put all my diaper, wipes, onesies right in the changing table, which was a table with a pad, below were baskets with everything in it and then I had a little 6 drawer tall upright dresser right next to that to hold overflow.

I like open shelving, easy to reach, easy to see.
