Posted - Jun 02 2008 : 07:25:57 AM Thanks for all the ideas farmgirls!! I appreciate it. I was given a whole bunch of canning jars this year and in the bottom of a plastic garbage can filled with canning jars there were some fabrics. I want to give them as a gift to a friend who taught me to sew - they are her style, very early 70's cotton prints - but who wants a smelly gift. I am off to try some vinegar..... |

Posted - May 27 2008 : 7:05:32 PM Maybe try washing, then vinegar rinse then wash again, then vinegar rinse to dry? Vinegar kills the mold and fungus spores that can cause a majority of "musty" smells and as it dries it leaves an indescribable "sweet" smell behind.
