Posted - May 05 2008 : 8:06:44 PM Oh no, Amie! I didn't know that contraception was an option!!!!! That's hysterical. I still think I'd have a back up, myself....dunno.

Posted - May 05 2008 : 06:17:45 AM I read an interview with the current head of the company (I think he's a grandson of the original Dr. Bronner). He mentioned that they had to remove certain claims from the original label, like the one that recommends using the soap as a contraceptive. I don't even want to know how that might work. I've never seen that one on the label, so I guess they took it off quite a while ago. It was an amusing article. The guy seemed to be saying "Gee, Grandad was a nice guy but he was a little wacky sometimes." |

Posted - May 05 2008 : 06:09:26 AM I've only used it for one--washing my hands...but my husband used the peppermint at camp as a kid for soap and toothpaste. But, they still called him "Crusty Justy"...so maybe you wanna get something else.... :) =)

Posted - May 04 2008 : 11:14:07 AM I don't believe I have ever seen a definitive list of 18 purposes. I think the label changes some as years go by. I am sure it was the pitch for the soap from 60 years ago. Have you read the whole label, it is quite interesting. I read it to my son while he is in the bath. Planet Spaceship, baby!
