So I know there have been a few posts about various types of vacuums, but I just have to say, Dysons rock!

I was a bit afraid to spend so much money on a vacuum, but with my allergies as bad as they are, a baby, and the amount of carpet in our new house, we decided that it was worth the investment. We also found one on sale for 20% off, so that helped, too.

But back to how awesome they are: Before we moved into our new house, we had the carpets professionally cleaned and they did a good job. The previous owner came over when they were done and remarked on the carpets looking so much better and looked for a couple spots that had been removed. A few days later, my husband ran our new sweeper and it was both amazing and disgusting to see how much stuff was picked up! To know that there was so much more hair, lint, and dirt just lurking in the carpet after having been cleaned was appalling! It is also very easy to move and change all the attachments, although it is kinds heavy to lug up and down the stairs.

Just wanted to give one more testimonial on the brilliant yellow Dyson!

I'm jealous. I told my husband I needed a new vacuum and he came home with a shop vac.

Yeah, the hose stretches out really far and can go all the way up my stairs anyway. I am not sure if you can change it, but I bet you could. I need to check out the website. They are just so well engineered!

I agree about how much more stuff is picked up. I love my yellow Dyson, too! :D Doesn't your hose sort of accordion out to reach up stairs? The one I have does. Can you change the hose? The sell lots of attachments on their website.
