We have laborers staying in a little house on the property that is only inhabited during the Summer months. One of the girls woke up to have several bites on her. For the most part they are small bites in threes, sort of a triangle shape, and look to have a tiny puss pocket in the center of each bite. She thinks fleas, but we don't see any and checked her bed and found nothing. I'm thinking spider bites. What do you girls think and whats the best course of action in getting rid of the buggers?! I'd forego the chemical bombs.. while they may get rid of things, they also are horrible for your health. I'm thinking it's ants, and if so, sprinkle peppermint, spearmint or cloves in the window sills and wherever they may be coming in. Also Vacuumm the mattress like crazy in case it's bed bugs. a plastic matress cover may also help to suffocate them while protecting you. Another idea is to spray white vinegar in cracks and crevices where things might be getting inside.

Hey there, Watch for any unusual pain or sensation at the bite site. I'm allergic to fleas..when I get bit by one an area raises up about an inch around the bite area and it feels numb but burns.
Spider bites can do that too but usually they are very tiny spots that drive you creazy...LOL
If there is any unusal amount of pain then it could have been a toxic spider such as a brown recluse (spelling??), brown widow, etc.
I feel for her :o/ Let us know how it heals.

I wonder if it could be bed bugs. Apparently the number of bed bugs in North America has grown exponentially in the last 5 years. It was in National Geographic a few months ago.

Could be fire ants. One year, my kids kept waking up with bites, and though I searched the bed, I couldn't find anything. However, I finally did find a stray ant after several days of this happening. Because their bed was nestled in the corner of the room, a few stray ants had come under the baseboard where I couldn't see them.
Regardless, spraying is probably in order, if not an all out bug bomb. Remember to remove all bedding before you do, and give the room plenty of time to air out. I am usually very wary of having to go on the chemical spray attack, but bites from an unknown source (on employees too) would definitely lead to an exception. |

flea bites can leave puss bumps, so can ant bites.it could be a number of things really.
probably a good idea to spray the house while they are out for the day.

Could be chigger bites that she got outside. if I get them I always get little puss pockets. They usually take a few hours to show up so she may have gotten them earlier but didn't realize them until she woke up.
You could do a "bug bomb" in the little house and see if that helps.
