Hi Ladies!

I am having a friend come and stay with us for a week or so. I know that while she is here we won't want to clean. So before she comes I want to get everything in shape so the damage won't be so great once she leaves.

Kitchen:
Dishes
Counters
Stove Top and Front
Microwave inside and out
Fridge inside and out
Floor

Entry Way:
Wash floor

Living Room Dining Room:
Sort mail
Finish sewing diapers
put away sewing supplies
Empty garbage
Dust
Fold laundry
Put away ironing board
Straighten books/magazine pile

Laundry room
Clean clothes
fold laundry
Put it away! :)

Bathroom:
Scrub shower stall/tub
Clean sink
Wipe down sinks
Clean mirrors
Clean toilet
Pumice stone toilet bowl ring
wash floor

Nora's Room
Empty garbage
Get storage tubs stored in closet
Get card table put back in closet

Our Room
Wash feather mattress
wash bedding

Vacuum whole house

Phew! It sounds like a lot but luckily it won't take more than a few hours.

Alee, thanks for the tip about the rubber brush. I actually think I have one somewhere!!!! One of those "infomercial" things you can pick up at Target. Will give it a try. And of course have tons of the mico-fiber towels, so will try that as well.

Enjoy your visit. Look forward to hearing from your friend on the forums.

Peace and love.

Annie-

A good vacuum and some microfiber dusting clothes work wonders for your type of situation. But it certainly is a never ending process when you have animals :) I shave my dog down in summer to help with the fur/dust issue a bit. Also if you have rugs or couches that attract dog hair- a rubber brush is amazing for picking it up!

My one little splurg is having someone come in once a week to help me clean (bad back due to car accident). Living on top of a ridge in the Black Hills with no grass yet (just moved in last summer to new house) but putting some in slowly, and with two dogs, the dirt and fur are flying constantly. Will have to check out that web site - maybe I can get better organized than I am. Thanks for the tip, Tina.

Enjoy your friends.

Have you tried Flylady.com? They have a print out sheet to check off and get jobs done faster so you don't waste time.

The dogs own the house but the people pay the mortgage!

*LOL* Actually I used to make my living by cleaning houses! It's hard work to clean another's house, but not so bad to clean mine. I am more willing to be forgiving of myself in my own house, but couldn't afford to do so as a business person.

Luckily I have help. My fiance has been cleaning alongside me. We are almost done. Just have to vacuum the couch and the living room and fold a couple of loads of laundry. Just taking a quick break to see how everyone's day was!

Hugs

Alee, I'm exhausted just reading your "to-do" list. My daughter and her family are coming to visit in a couple of weeks for a long weekend, do you hire out???!!!

Best of luck w/all the chores. But most importantly, enjoy your visit. That's the most important thing.

Peace and love.

Annie
