Posted - Feb 17 2007 : 11:27:33 PM Okay I had to share with someone who would appreciate my enthusiasm. Through a friend I was told of a woman who had a barn full of wool and junk to get rid of. So of course I jumped at the chance to be first. Oh My! I now am the proud new owner of a Louet spinning wheel, extra fly wheel, 8 bobbins, yarn blocker, wool winder, four huge bags of dyed wool, spinning books and 6 bags of crafting fabric ( which most I am donating to our church ladies who make quilts for people in need of prayers)and a ton of pendleton wool fabric. This is my once in a lifetime find. And she is going to call me if she finds anything else sheep related. I only hope the rest of my year goes this well. I hope everyone can get to be this lucky this year. I have been in need of a new spinning wheel for quite a while but it was never in the budget. My DH just asked where I planned to put all of it. I assured him it was no problem.
Have great day FarmGirl Friends.

You can add a picture to the post by choosing reply to the topic rather than the quick reply. You can also post a link to a picture on photobucket or other photo hosting site.

Posted - Feb 21 2007 : 9:42:35 PM Thanks Girls
I have given many thanks for my blessings and for answered prayers. My old wheel will be finding a home with a dear farm girl friend who has wanted to learn the art of spinning for quite a while. I am so excited that I can pass on this wonderful craft to someone else. So to post a picture I need to use photo bucket or something similar?

Posted - Feb 20 2007 : 03:35:24 AM Ahh, a gift that gives twice! I'm sure that she was happy to see your joy at your finds. It's hard to throw away something that one knows is valuable, but that one just has no use for any longer.
Perhaps you can make her a token gift with these things, and she can enjoy her kindness again. |
