I am ready to book this event at the Park but I need to know who is staying over night (how many rooms/beds???) Please reply with "overnight" or "day only" Thanks I can't wait!!! 
Hay Ya'll I've been saying I was going to do this and NOW is the time!! I have found cabins and chalets in North Alabama and the date is February 26th at DeSoto State Park. Both cabins and chalets are available (for now) so book this trip ASAP The cost is 35.00 per night per person with 4 people to a cabin/chalet. We can enjoy the meeting room in the main dining area for free if we are spending the night. I did NOT book the date because I don't know how many of you will come and join the fun but I will as soon I hear back from my SISTERS The cabins/chalets have a full kitchen and bath facilities and they also have fireplaces....what fun....I'll bring marshmellows...someone else brings graham crackers.....someone else brings choclate bars....Wooo Hooooo!!!! Lets get together!!! I am waiting to hear from you so I can start the process....can't wait on this because they might book up ....Waiting to hear from you....

I am so excited (and jealous)hehe, about the trip. Wish I was off I would love to come and meet you all. I live about 30 min away but working the graveyard is too hard and try and do something afterward. It is so nice in Mentone. As of last fall, there were a couple of antique stores. I think they close up pretty early (5ish ?)on Saturday. Have a GREAT time! |

Hay Ya'll
I'm up late again. Was at a bee keeping meeting with earthgirl so I am too excited to sleep and they had "High Test" coffee and I couldn't help myself....I knew better but had a cup anyway.
Kelly, yes you can bring your daughter but only if she has an apron, lol. I am gathering a list of names and will post them here tomorrow so if I miss anyone please let me know. This trip/get-together is on two threads so I am going to go thru them both and list your names and locations and any fun suggestions and food ideas(post those here so I can include them). Look for the list sometime in the afternoon on Friday. And correct me if I make mistakes.
I am going to hit the hay coz sun-up is really soon and I have tractor work in the a.m. (hope I don't have to fix fence too!!!) Oh yah, and the bottle baby is now drinking from a bucket but still keeps pushing me around looking for the nipple to suck on. Its real cute now but she will one day be 1200 pounds and then it won't be so cute.....must break her of the nipple (so sorry lil Mary-Kay). Tee Hee.

Hi Ruth. I sure hope you can come. I miss you too. Mazie is pregnant and due in about 4 weeks now. She is so big and wide. Sometimes I can't see Roxie when she's on the other side of her. And my goats are both due the middle of April. So I should have some babies running around here again soon.

Daizy, I will only be staying the day since I am so close. Mazie is so big right now. maybe y'all can come to see my little farm while you are here. It's only about 16 miles from the park. ANd this is the most beautiful area here. I hope to see more people coming. I hope Ruth is able to come. And Kelly. I have not seen her since we went to Atlanta to see Mary Jane.

Kelly, I hope you can make it....any ideas as to what to do. Someone suggested a UFO retreat type event ( bring an unfinished project to work on). I could bring my sewing machine. What would you like to see us get into.
Ruth, thats so cool....21st Birthdays are wonderful....for My DD's 21st she finally got the horse she had been asking for all her life, at all birthdays and Christmas's that was her ONLY request and I finally pulled it off. She was so shocked and happy.. I was so proud and what a great horse too. I hope you can fit us in - let me know.
Kris, How is Maize (how are you)? I hope all is well over yonder. Did ya'll get lots of snow? We got enough...I am ready for spring now...I've had the cold and th snow and now my jonquils are blooming and I'm with them, ready to get into spring. I hope you are still planning to come join us.
I am trying to talk my baby sister into coming, "earthgirl". Ya'll will like her .. she is a new-b and another friend too, maybe.
OK Smores, firewood, door prizes.....any thing else? Do we want to bring a covered dish so we can save money? And maybe hot dogs/hamburgers? I need feed back ladies. Can you tell that I am getting excited?
Got to go bottle feed the calf and get ready for the cattlemens convention this weekend so I have to close now.

Daizy, This is the weekend of my Grandson's 21st Birthday - there will be a celebration sometime, and they live 3 hours away from me, south of Atlanta, so will have to see what the plans are for the party. I'll keep you posted!
I have a very large kitty laying across my right arm, which makes it very difficult to type :). He loves for me to be in this chair, then he has some Mom time and he's a happy boy!

Ruth its only for the one night (Saturday night) I sure hope someone can stay the night . There are single beds and a queen.
So far only 4 have reached back to me but i'm still hoping to get more responses. B sure to bring your aprons and maybe a hat/bonnet. I am bringing the camera so we can send a photo to MJF and I'm taking more suggestions, got any?

Hay Ya'll Ruth, I sure hope you can make it...I'm trying to talk Kris into staying over night instead of just a day. I've been trying to think up ideas for us to do, fun things that don't cost any money...any suggestions you have will be helpful. That goes for any SISTERS because I've never organized one of these get-together. Even if you are from way-away but have some neat ideas please chime in and let us know.... I am so excited that this is coming together ( ME: Happy Dancing in the Living Room)

Daizy, why don't you post this in the Gathered Up section too. Might get more responses there. I can't wait to meet you too. I hope lots more will be able to come. I was just surprised that it's going to be so close to home. Less than 20 miles. That area is beautiful. Lots of nice places to go. Cute little restarants. This time of year there won't be very pretty scenery but that's ok. It's always beautiful here. Just sitting around talking or hiking the falls would be nice. I'll have to go one day to see what all is up there. Haven't been since last year.

Hay Kris I have been watching this screen to see if anyone wants to come. I'm so glad you can. i've been reading your posts and can't wait to meet you. The only thing up there that Iknow about is the Ft. Payne area with the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and the Mentone Mtn. area with its antique stuff and craft area. Mentone is very interesting. Son't know if we will want to go any where other than our State Park but I thought I would gather info in case some of the SISTERS wanted to venture out. Any suggestions, Smores are for sure, tho!!!
