Posted - Mar 06 2010 : 05:19:22 AM Hay dare midwest farmgirls. I am in southern Wisconsin and have been trying to connect with some area farmgirls. I am going to join the Farmgirls on the loose tour in Pepin, WI in June. Anyone want to go along with me?

Posted - Nov 16 2009 : 09:33:19 AM The Morton Arboretum is a good place to meet up too in Lisle. Chicago Botanical Garden is great also. Just depends on how many people live north or south of the city who plan to show up.

Posted - Nov 16 2009 : 08:42:46 AM Hi Midwest girls!
I'd love to do another meet-up at the Botanic Gardens -- maybe to see the winter displays? Anyone else interested?

Posted - Nov 16 2009 : 08:37:56 AM Hello neighbor! There are a few of us in the area. I'm sure they'll pop in soon. They've met up at the Chicago Botanical Gardens earlier this year. Unfortunately I was unable to join them - schedules just didn't work out. Hopefully we can do another meet up!
Tell us about yourself!

Posted - Nov 16 2009 : 08:34:11 AM I, too, am a new farmgirl and in the Midwest. I am about 2 hours east of Chicago in the South Bend/Notre Dame, Indiana area. I haven't been west of Chicago by car so I know very little about Illinois. What is your town like? What are your interests? I have many interests including sports, travel, cooking/baking, sewing, scrapbooking and reading. It is just my hubby and me. We were never able to have children of our own. However, where a door is closed a window is opened. We have hosted two wonderful young ladies through a high school exchange student program. It has been such a joy and blessing for us. Now we have kids all over the world. We have two dogs, Ben and Sophie. Both are the Heinz 57 type but both are good dogs. I have a close knit family and have three nephews, the youngest just two months old. I love them to death!
I look forward to getting to know you. I think this will be so much fun!

Posted - Oct 21 2009 : 7:57:07 PM Denise--I live in the southern half of the state and I don't live on a farm, though I'm doing my best to turn my home into a homestead. I think I've been to Aurora once, seems like we played their softball team when I was in college. Have you always lived in Illinois? What hobbies do you enjoy? Do you have any of the MJF books? (I have MaryJane's Outpost and I've read the stitching book from the library). do you have any pets? Kids? I'd love to chat with someone from up north. I've been to northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan and I love the cooler summers that you guys have. I like snowy winters, which we haven't had much of here in recent years. Anyway, welcome to the forum, and hope to get to know you better! Cindy
