Well, girls, Mom and I are going to have a glorified "yard sale" of sorts but I wanted to turn it hopefully into something a little more special than that. I've been watching our farm sisters up in Idaho and Washington as well as Kentucky and I'm thinking we could have our own little gathering - we're trying to sell off 20 or 30 years of antiques, knick-knacks and what may be treasures to you (but junk to us)... I'd also probably be willing to do some trade/barters with some of my own things (but I can't say if Mom would..)

Would anyone be interested in coming to something like this? I'll have a bake sale as well as lemonade, teas, and flavored water. There's a _huge_ covered porch ...

Does anyone have some ideas??? Would any Texas girls and those from surrounding areas be interested?

We're up for doing something special with this!

Jennifer,
I know exactly where that is. I drive by there several times a week. Let me know when you are in Waller and if you decide to go to the yard sale.

Kendra,
I know exactly where you are talking about. My lessons are off of 362 south. When I lived in montgomery I would go right through Fieldstore. I have been taking some time off from my lessons but when I go back I will let you know when I am that way. The barn I ride with is Karousel Show Horses. About a 1 mile from 290.

Hi Brooke,
I would come. Willis is only about a hour from me. I have some friends in Willis that would come too and my Mom lives just outside of Conroe. (I grew up in that area) I am sure we could gather up a group to come.
Where in Montgomery does your mom live? Before we moved out to Iola we lived in Montgomery for 6 yrs and my son lives there.
Sherrine, I live in Iola so you are only 30 minutes from me. We could maybe ride together.
Kendra, you are only a hour away from me. I take my riding lessons in Waller. Where in Waller are you? That would be fun fun us to get together and go.
Brooke let me know what date you decide on if you are going to still do it.

HI Ladies,
I'm a new FarmGirl living in Waller. Sherrine you are the first person I've seen that's close. I have contacted every chapter in the area and all are sadly inactive.
I would love to go out the sale. Let me know when you settle on a date.

If you came, you should probably come up 59 through Humble or the like.. I wonder if it would take 3 hours!

Wow, I need to throw a huge party "Farmgirl Bash" for all you girls to make it worth your while to drive! LOL!

Let me get my thinking cap on here very soon.

I might could come up from Orange. It takes me about an hour and a half to get to the Houston city limits. When I go to my sisters' home in Katy I get there in just under three hours (Houston traffic, ugh.) Hubby might go for the idea If I tell him he can come along and go visit friends for a while, then come back to pick me up.

I know, Mom and I are thinking it crazy to do this when it's so hot... I would say wait for fall but we've been putting it off........... for years! LOL

Kelley, I like Navasota and the little shops there! My mom lives in Montgomery!

I'm not really part of any chapter, at least 'physically'. I always wanted to help pull one together. I was in the online HOTTIES (Heart of Texas) but it has sort of unraveled, I guess!? I don't have any specifics yet but wanted to try and put together some ideas and if anyone would be interested. I'd like to have a picnic of some sort as well! I'm just going to put out some tables, maybe put some linens on them and then spread out the goods! lol. That as MUCH as I know right now.. make some goodies to eat... so forth ...

This might be a good time for a 'round up'!? lol!

Hey Brooke....and Melody!!! I'm a little north of Tyler....kinda close to you melody...anyhow...I grew up in Navasota...LOVED going to lake Conroe...and have a very good friend that lives in Willis!!!...I would be interested in coming!!! I love anitques...and garage sales and bartering!!! And I have yet to make a single friend since I moved here from Oklahoma, much less meet any other farmgirls!!! I think it would be great!!! Email me and let me know the specifics.....unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there are many farmgirl chapters in Texas, if any active ones at all...I have been planning on starting a chapter here in East Texas for almost 5 months, but have not posted flyers and set a date yet...are you part of a chapter? I always thought it would be fun if there were more active chapters in Texas, that way we could all have an annual "Round Up" where all the chapters in the state met up and had fun weekend together...but......like I said....anywho....let me know!!!

Melody, It would be closer - It would be on the north-side, actually in Willis/Conroe, so I am thinking it would be more like 3 hours from you!

As for when we're having it, it would be hot unfortunately, but maybe in a month ! However, we can bring out fans and try to keep things as cool as possible! We're just hoping to get this done and hopefully have a good time doing it... lol
