Posted - Jun 14 2009 : 04:44:07 AM The Isle A la Cache Rendezvous is winding down today. We're headed out there around noon or so.
quote: History is alive and well this weekend! The 26th annual Island Rendezvous will host re-enactors from all over the Midwest. Those voyageurs, Natives, colonist, and soldiers of 18th-century Illinois are eager to have some fun and share their expertise. Modern visitors will get hands-on opportunities with skills and games, when they're not dancing to music of the era, buying unique quality goods, listening to tall tales or filling their stomachs. New this year are falconry demonstrations and canoe rides on the Des Plaines River. This is a free event with free parking and shuttle service. Most locations are accessible via a paved or crushed limestone path, but some campsites will be on uneven ground. For more information, please call Isle a la Cache Museum at 815.886.1467.
