Calling all Farmgirls, Farmgirls at heart, & All Rural Women!!! OCTOBER 15th is WORLD RURAL WOMEN'S DAY! What's that? Well, it's a day to celebrate women. You may not live in a rural community, but you can sure help celebrate as well. What do you do on World Rural Women's Day? Well, it's up to you! Get together with your farmgirl friends and knit, stitch, bake, read or just plain ol' chat! Or if you're really feeling 'gung-ho', make a statement in your community by hosting a large community party, or who knows what! Be creative, have fun, and celebrate women!

Nothin better than a little smudged dirt on the face of a honest, hard workin farmgirl in her "alls", hat or prairie dress. The world better watch out cause we are a force to be reckoned with!!!

October 15th - World Rural Women's Day! I love it! I wonder if Hallmark has gotten on the bandwagon with this holiday? Somehow, I bet not!!! :)

We will just have to send each other e-cards celebrating the farmgirl in all of us. And chat online with a special celebration of our own.

I know everybody has heard of the red hat society. We could form our own straw hat society and proclaim that when we grow old, we want to wear straw hats and cotton prairie dresses (or overalls, if you prefer). MJF would approve - she sells straw hats!

Love those big blue skies and wide open spaces.

I think we will do a facial with Kolin clay mixed with yogurt. It feels so good and is sooooo refreshing

Oh yes, a chatting day here on our site - GREAT idea!!!!!

Eileen, a tea party, I haven't been to one of those since I was a girl! How wonderful! I think the idea of getting together and celebrating us is what it's all about - not necessarily the date. So if you're celebrating on the 17th, well - we could just make it a three day event! 15, 16, 17! We're worth it!

So, let's spread the word and make sure we're typing on that day! Let's see how many posts we can get just on that day! I'm telling everyone I see!!

Hey Y'all,
Several of us have a planned Tea Party for 1:00pm west coast time and 4:00 east coast time for the 17th. Could this stand in for our rural womans day celebration as well. The same idea applies. The discussion thread was in over the fence I think titled tea parties. I have already sent out my invitations and have plans for tea and shortcake plus anything any one else coming wants to add. Teddy bears and dolls welcome. A complete no stress day for relaxing and being with our girlfriends. What do ya think?

This is wonderful. Will have to find a special way to celebrate. Definitely will post that day-could be fun to see how many posts that we could get for our special day.
