Hello To all my farmgirl friends~
I'm excited to announce that Emil and I are engaged to be married. He proposed this weekend in the old schoolhouse (totally farmgirl style!) I'm over the top with excitement! I would love some words of wisdom from my farmgirl friends. We are thinking about a winter wedding next year so if anyone has any great ideas let me know. RachelLeigh you too!! I would love to hear all about your winter wedding. Oh life can't get any better!! I’m just so in love with that man! Hugs and Kisses ~Kate

Congrats I have always wanted a winter wedding also. My ideas for it have been to arrive and/or leave by horse drawn sleigh, lighted with only white christmas lights, lots of winter greenery and red berries. i have always wanted a long white dress wiht a hooded cloak (sp). Just a few idea to wonder feel free to use them. Good luck planning.

Thank you Patti, Pamela and Helen!! Emil and I are starting to plan and get things all worked out. I’m planning on using lots of Christmas trees and candles. We are going to have the wedding at a lodge up in the mountains. I sure hope it snows!!

A winter wedding is so romantic. How about if the only light was candle light? A friend of mine's daughter did this in a quaint church winter wedding and it was beautiful and so romantic.
Happy planning!

Hey Kate
A friend of mine had a winter wedding and reception at my house -- two days after Christmas. She hired a florist to do up my place with greenery and used lots of white candles etc. But the most beautiful touches, I think, were accomplished with cranberries -- the flower arrangements had cranberries filling the vases, there were cranberries on all the passing platters and, for a homemade touch, the bride made small loaves of cranberry bread for all the guests to take home -- all tied up with cranberry ribbon.

Enjoy your day. We all wish you the best.

don't these pictures just sing?!
:::::Drink to me only with thine eyes
And I will pledge with mine.
Or leave a kiss within the cup
And I'll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove's nectar sup,
I would not change for thine.

I sent thee late a rosy wreath,
Not so much hon'ring thee
As giving it a hope that there
It could not withered be;
But thou thereon did'st only breathe,
And sent'st it back to me,
Since when it grows and smells, I swear
Not of itself, but thee. :::::

Congratulations!!!

Oh Kate, Congratulations to you both! What a wonderful time of year to be engaged. My middle daughter just found the love of her life and though a proposal is still in the distance, the anticapation is marvelous! Many blessings to you. Julia V.

I bet you've got a lot of planning started already. One of my roommates is getting married in May, and she just found her dress (which is perfect for her too!! It's so exciting to see all of the details coming together. You're very lucky to have such a great place for a wedding (assuming you're having it on the farm). My roomie is from Alaska, as is her fiance, and they're searching throughout the area for a great place to do it. Can't wait to hear for more details. Weddings are my absolute favorite event and it's even better when you're apart of the person's life.
P.S. I might have to show mom to these postings for a Christmas gift for me *cough**cough*...

I'm very excited. Thanks for all the kind posts and sweet wishes they mean so much to Emil and I. ~ Love,Kate
PS The hat is totally cute. We also have pink ones with brown writing or an olive color too. We're selling them now!! All you need to do is call us at the farm to place an order. They make great Christmas gifts Every farmgirl needs one!!

Congratulations Kate and Emil! I'm sure you'll both be very happy. And the planning of a wedding over the next year is a great way to work on handling disagreements, so you'll be working on those marriage skills! Just kidding, I'm sure you both will have a fun and happy year planning.

Katie girl, great news! You and Emil are such a cute couple! I love the photos. Now, let's see, if we all get to work, we'll have aprons made, soaps made, maybe put together a cookbook of farmgirl recipies...aw, sure there's plenty of time. Woo hoo!!
