Here is the tentative date for our 6th Annual HArvest Hop In and Chili Dump! This year I am going to tailor it to be more like MJ's Farm Fair (she's my absolute heroine). I'm hoping to have a master pumpkin carver for demo's, a granola & spiced cider stand and maybe some local artisans and crafters. there willbe pumpkins for sale and other fun fall stuff. It will be Saturday October 18 from 11-7 and then family close friend festivities after that (bonfire, "ghosts in the graveyard" and whatnot). All my sista's are welcome to come and stay and camp if you prefer. I am going to use this as a platform to encourage more women to farm and raise farm awareness. I have talked to local FFA kids about doing a farm safety demo. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I'd better see some of you OHio girls (we can do an impromtu gathering/camp out...)!

Have people come...ovah. (it rhymed, dont knock it!)
On a night thats reserved for goblins and ghouls,
To frolic, giggle & laugh
And act like fools.
We'll dance and chant and toast 'mallows by fire.
And feast and drink cider until time to expire.
BUT, this year's HOP will be a little strange,
A tad bit crazy - it's time for a change-
Instead of Dawn's famous Chili to eat,
She thought it'd be super wickedly sweet,
If everyone could bring and item or lump....
And toss it into the GREAT....CHILI....DUMP!

Again, Harvest Hop November 1, 2008 from 11- whenever ya'll decide to go home or crash. I have one extra bed. Bring a tent, sleep with the chickens! Bring some stuff to sell. Bring food. I like to eat!

I am about 1.5 hours from Toledo. South. Maybe on your way home Frannie! I am officially considering down sizing it due to health issues but its still gonna be fun!

I wish I were there in Ohio. I would surely participate in this event of yours. How charming it sounds. Hope you all have a great time. Keep us posted. I would love to hear how it all went.
