Posted - Aug 13 2007 : 2:13:16 PM i am thinking of hosting an all day saturday and sunday farmgirl event. It would be in late october and would be a beginnrt fiddle, dulcimer, and other mountain instrument teaching weekend, with an evening knitting and pie circle with a movie (something topical like cold mountain, or songcatcher) There would be no charge but people would need to find a place to spend the evening if they were coming from out of town. I'd like to have lessons, family style dinner and brunch, and plenty of time to let people walk around the farm or visit sandpoint. Would anyone come?

Posted - Aug 18 2007 : 12:12:52 PM i was attacke by a dog as a 9 year old girl, had to be rushed to the hospital to be sewn up across the chest. So i understand. My dogs bark and sing and run up to people and like to be petted. so if you are uncomfortable around animals you'd best not attend.

Posted - Aug 17 2007 : 3:42:34 PM Hi Jenna, Thanks for posting about the dogs. I may sound like a baby but have been chased by a big dog and am rather timid when it comes to the big ones. As long as they don't come up to me or want to be petted, I will not likely have a heart attack! I so badly want to learn to play the fiddle it is worth my being a bit of a "fraidy cat." Just tried again to hear the music on the blog...but had no success. Anyone else having problems...or is it just me? Thanks, Pamela

Posted - Aug 14 2007 : 1:43:25 PM sorry to keep posting so much, im just excited.
please note: I have 2 large siberian husky sleddogs that live INDOORS with me. They are harmless, sweet, and love people. But if you do not like animals, or fear dogs, or hate dog hair on your pants (I do clean everyday but it'll be fall adn they'll be getting winter coats in) you might want to decline. If you love big dogs, then shucks, you just made yourself 2 new russian friends!

Posted - Aug 14 2007 : 10:06:41 AM Mapquest says 1900.01 miles from DeMotte, Indiana to Sandpoint, Idaho. 27 hours and 22 minutes of driving time. Lets see, at 26 mpg and $2.89/gallon, the gas would cost about $215. 2 days out, 2 days back, leave Thursday, get back Tuesday, so 5 nights of accommodations.
Hmmmmm......I wonder what my husband would say.......
Kathy T have dulcimer & psaltry (and even a tin whistle, even tho I don't play it)- will travel - would love to learn fiddle! Can y'all hear the wheels turning in my brain?!

Posted - Aug 14 2007 : 08:44:20 AM there are people here in sandpoint, and if all else fails kay you can stay with me but im far from a B&B, my house has two big sleddogs and loud roosters in the morning.
also, there are a billion places to stay! Sandpoint is a resort town, and there's a motel 8, monarch mountain lodge, and a bunch more all over.
i suggest coithouse, if you want to swing it. its a great little vivtorian b&B
so far we have sherri for certain, 9 spots open!

Posted - Aug 13 2007 : 4:53:23 PM I'm interested! I'd at least like to hear the details, so let us know what you come up with in the end. I will need to get out a map and see exactly where you are, it seems to me that you are WAY up there in Idaho! My sister lives in Boise and we were born in McCall. |
