Hey there,

Just wondering if there are any farmgirls that spin in the Northeast Alabama, Northeast Georgia or Chattanooga, Tennessee vicinity???

Contact me if you know anyone, OK? I'm trying to find someone with a spinning wheel to try out.

Peace, Stephanie

Stephanie, don't mean to disappoint you, but it barely snows here. :-)

Hey Brenda,

I'm moving to Nashville, Tennessee within the next 2-3 years so at least I will be back where it snows during the winter...Not an awful lot but enough to make the difference in finding more spinners. That's where I've located a few spinning shops that are within a few hours of me.

I love all of the needle arts and wish I could live enough lifetimes to learn everything.

Talk to ya later,
Stephanie

Oh good. Keep us posted on how you progress. I get so thrilled when I see that the old skills are not being lost, just passed on to new people.

I'm in Ohio, and have belonged to a local spinning and weaving guild. They helped me a lot. You might try the HGA (handweaver's guild of America) list of local affiliated guilds to find someone in your area. http://www.weavespindye.org/pages/?p=a-all-guilds.html&loc=1-59-00

Even if one is not listed close to you, maybe call one a little further away and ask if they know of any closer guilds. The guild I belonged to used to be a member guild of HGA, but I don't see them on the list now, even though they are still an active guild in my city.
