Good Morning. I harvested garlic scapes and radishes this morning, between the rains. I think I will chop up and dry the scapes and maybe try fermenting some radishes to see if we like them. Next to harvest oregano and get that drying.

I highly recommend the cattle panels! As long as you tie them up (or use the clips) they work so much better than the cages.

Even though its been quite hot up there Michele you are still getting a bumper crop from your garden. Hope you have all the tomatoes you need soon!

Heather I have not controlled my tomatoes, yicks. I don't know where to start and a storm tipped over some cages. Next year I will use cattle panels to hold them up and tie them too. I see a few people using those on you tube and seems to work great.
I harvested a couple heads of cabbage, one was nice sized and one was getting ate on. I got two quarts of sauerkraut sitting. Peas are done, and cucumbers starting.
The darn heat we have had, slows me way down.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that has a tomato jungle LOL! I have mine clamped to the fence and mostly under control now, but boy was it a mess! Isn't it amazing how fast the garden can get out of control?

Most of the corn has stood back up again. Pretty good anyways. Can't wait to harvest, getting close. Tomatoes are a jungle and a royal mess. Not sure where to start pruning them. Picked a cucumber yesterday. Heat is coming back for our weekend and next week.

Michele, that happens to our corn as well. We get really bad wind at our house and we get knocked over corn every year. Hopefully you still have some left standing.

A few veggies are starting to come in slowly. A small amount of peas, beans, and broccoli. I got some basil leaves dried, they took a while. Last night we had a storm roll through. Some of my corn is knocked over, but could of been worse. My tomatoes are a jungle. Trying to cut those back so I could actually pick things when ripe. Hope everyones gardens are doing well.

I am already planning all the yummy breads and side dishes I want to make with my zucchini! I am saving this first one for my dad, since he wasn't able to grow a garden this year.

Last night I was able to harvest my first zucchini along with a good handful of sugar snap peas! It makes me so happy that I can finally start collecting things from my garden.

Lisa, glad it was just not me that failed with them. haha
Garlic is getting close to harvesting, and the garden is coming along. Mostly just trying to keep up with the weeding. I do have holly hocks blooming now. They are so pretty. So far I have red ones and a dark maroon one.

Yesterdays harvest was sage, thyme and dill weed. Those are all dried now and going in jars this morning. The fermented radishes, well I dumped them.
They smelled a bit funky, so I think I did not add enough salt to the jar. Oh well, don't know if you don't try.

Isn't it wonderful to start harvest :) Let us know how the fermented radishes turn out. I'm not a big fan of them, but my in laws always plant too many. That might be something to try!
